So Im sitting with a bit of a dilemma.

Firstly the mods.
Im using the X.Gun, BCC Mega Clear Tank with 2.2ohm coil.
The X.Gun is set to 9 watts.

Yesterday I topped the tank up with a mix of Cuban Cigar and Espresso.
Happy vapes!
Its been absolutely fantastic until now.
I get 1 good vape and the BURN.
Leave it alone for about 20 minutes.
Again 1 good vape and then BURN. :hmph:

The battery is still at 3.8 volts, so its not a drop in power.
There is plenty liquid in the tank (almost full).

The ironic part is that when I had the tank on my k100 with 1.8ohms coil. It would burn the living crap out of everything I put into it.

Im starting to have a strong feeling that I wasted money buying this tank.

Anyone have any ideas why I get 1 good vape and then burn?
Yesterday it was perfect and today total crap.

maybe its your wick?

this sounds like a wicking issue

To me it sounds like the wick has worn out.

If you are getting one good vape and then burn it means that either the wick is losing the juice way too quickly, or it is not absorbing enough juice.

Either way best solution is to change the coil and wick.

I was thinking the same thing.

Ironically enough, I tried using the 1.8 on the k100. Being mechanical, it should be beast.
It just burnt everything in site. Was so annoyed and disappointed.

are you using the standard coils?

Yeah. Using the standard coils that came with the tank.
Tried lifting up the rubber seal a little bit to allow more liquid onto the wick.
Was fine for a few puffs. Then went straight back to burn again.

that wick is definitely not getting enough juice, hence the burnt taste

Not sure of any other way to allow it to get more wick.

When I opened it up, the wick was wet nicely from the liquid. Well from what I could see at least.

Maybe I do in fact have a dud unit that just cant work properly.

try adding another piece of wick in there?

maybe a thin layer of cotton, over the existing wick and see what happens

Will have to go and buy some. Have no idea where i can get.

Unless I pull some off the one coil and stick it in there?

that could work yes

dont pull off the coil thats already in the tank

just lay one or two strands over the existing coil

If you are willing to mess around then try to re-wick with some cotton.. cotton absorbs faster than silica and that should help with the problem

Na dude, you can re-wick with the current coil, just need a flat screwdriver to re-space the coil

The problem is really simple.....your wattage is too high. Put in a new coil. Turn it down to 6Watts. Slowly up the watts until it remotely starts to burn. Turn it back a notch (1-1.5 watts).

Changed the wick. Didnt help at all.

Will just use the 2043 and drip tank until I get a gap to go and buy a decent tank.

Have you tried it with a totally new stock coil ?
Maybe it was just that coil that was a dud.

Yeah. I started with the 1.8ohm which did the same as the 2.2ohm.

Hmmmm.... that is really strange

If the tank and battery was sold to you as a working combination I would then only suggest taking it back to the supplier and saying it doesnt work for you. Perhaps they can swop it for something else or give you your money back.

Ha ha. Thats the funny part. I phoned them and told them about it. Not once did they say I should bring it back.

Perhaps they won't say it of their own accord over the phone.

You should try going back to them and show them that it doesn't work - and say you either want something that does work or your money back.

So over the weekend I filled the tank up with Cherry flavour for a friend to try out. At 0 nicotine.

He vaped away happily the entire tank and emptied it out.

He didn't experience any dry burns at all.
Maybe Im just vaping weird or something??

All I did was clean the tank and fill it up. Didn't change anything.
