If you willing to try then open the mod, check where its getting stuck and then you will have the solution but alot of the time juice tends to cause the issue you have. A solid cleaning should resolve it though

As a suggestion use rubbing alcohol to clean the button. This issue could be cause due to juice leaking into the button. You can also use Electric Contact Cleaner which is rather expensive. But ya an earbud assist in the cleaning process

As suggested it would be best to take it back to the store or attempt to upload a video... I had a pen style device a year or 2 back and the little LED used in the mod had moved which caused the same issue on my end however in your case it may be a different issue.

Have you tried online stores such as Ebay and takealot? I know there are plenty of figures on there and some awesome deals
