Word of advice (From experience), keep your back up with you... You never know what might happen to your first device. It happened to me twice!

For a quick try, wrap the atty in a cloth around the base of the atty, and use a pliers or something to loosen. Do not hold the posts as it might break off. Edit: Never over tighten the atty on the mod or the negative base screw of the mod

Have you tried removing the battery first?
