I have the HB DNA 40 and it has worked flawlessly for me i dont know the chip version but it can change between farenheight to Celsius. Also the batch now available has the correct wiring as shown in this pic

Just a thought if long periods between vapes and the wick is well saturated when vaped gives a harsh nic hit and as the wick runs dryer the vape smooths out. Is it posible that this might be the case.

I have a dna 40 (Hcigar one) im ok on the nickel build just very soft and not durable. I did try twisting 28 gauge kanthal and nickel it was very harsh. might be user error.
