@ Dietz thank you for the awesome info. I followed your design with the exception of the pot control module. I was able to get a away with a simple switched 10K potentiometer that works fine for me.
The hardest part was getting the right magnets. Hard drive magnets seemed to produce the best...
Hi. Is your company able to ship vape products to South Africa with DHL service? I tried to orders some goods but the consultant said that you do not ship any vape products at all to South Africa. Can you please confirm?
Kylin RTA - This leaking issue drove me crazy from day one.
Big Baby Best RBA - Absolute POS from day one. This RBA gives an atomizer short error and has a machined press fit base. I cannot believe how such rubbish is released to consumers.
I did fix both of the above after after alot of...
The problem you described generally relates to a bad 510 connection or loose wire from the 510 to the PCB. If you have limited experience with electronics, get an experienced friend or a local electronics repair store to do a continuity check with a multimeter to measure the resistance of the...
Here's a link to disassemble:
I agree with Zadiac. Sounds like a loose connection. Check the battery sled and the connections going to the pcb. I am pretty sure one of the wires might require some soldering to get the device functioning again.
From the symptoms you describe, it could potentially be the power switch which might have failed. This is a little surface mount micro switch soldered onto the pcb. It requires a hot air reflow station and a bit of skill to replace. Might even be difficult to find the exact dimensions of the...
I am not sure how comfortable you are with the dis-assembly of this mod or with electronics. I had a similar issue with my RX 2/3. There's a thin red wire which connects from the main PCB to the battery sled. This wire is used by the onboard chipset to measure the battery voltage. The wire takes...
Testing so far and the fix seems to be working well. My juice seems to be lasting much longer. There's a slight bit of condensation but overall a great improvement from the original leaking issue.
So here's how I fixed the leaking issue (for now at least):
1) Carefully remove the 510 screw...
So far the leak fix is holding up well. I just want to make sure the fix works 100% before posting it to others. Will definitely upload images and the repair details in the next few days after the test is complete and I can confirm working 100% ;)
After purchasing this RTA and after 1 week of use, the dreaded leaking issue began. Like most users, I tried different wicking methods, moving the coils away from the center and tightening the 510 gold plated screw. The leak persisted no matter what I did. Leaving the tank on mean't risking a...
Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Xcube mini. This confirms the issue of quality control with Smok mods. I stay away completely from Smok mods entirely however some of the tanks are good. Normally I enjoy a bit of a challenge with precision electronic component level repairs however...
Good points both regarding the hairdryer and the blow torch!
Fortunately, I am a tech so I have access to various test and repair equipment. I think hot air smd station might do the job. Lowest heat setting, lowest airflow setting with a narrow tip. Will give this a try. Best to start now with...
Have you ever tried this before? I am honestly a bit sceptical about using plain paper gaskets. I doubt this will be a permanent lasting fix because I see the paper gasket getting damaged each time the battery is inserted and removed especially in certain mods eg. Istick where the battery fit is...
As a safety measure and to prevent damage to your mod, do not use batteries which have a broken plastic seal layer near the positive terminal (see picture).
When the plastic layer is removed (I stripped the insulation just to expose the layer - see pic), it exposes the negative layer of the...
