Good day fellow vapers.
Today I would like to share some valuable information with you all. I am not too sure if it has been mentioned already, but I couldn't find anything using the search function of the forum. So here it goes.
Together with the rise of Wismec & joyetch products such as Rx200, Cuboid & Evic minin vtc's, came the rise of the problems/faults of these new devices.
Thankfully most software problems are being taken care of by updating the firmware. However, the most common problem seems to be a hardware issue and is difficult to fix/prevent for most of us normal vapers.
The mighty short 510 connector problem.
For some strange reason, these devices were designed to have very short threading on the 510 connection and it started causing problems not too long after their release.
This is where we run into another problem. With the rise in popularity of the hybrid mechanical mods (thanks to the noisy cricket), which require protruding 510 pins, many recent RDAs and RTAs come with protruding 510 pins and longer 510 threadings.
What happens is that when the user is not aware of the above mentioned problems and uses a protruding 510 pin atty with a longer 510 threading on a device with shorter 510 connection, it may permanently cause damage to the insulator under the 510 connection of the mod. This leads to the very well known *No atomizer* error on certain devices. Further more, some companies are denying warranties caused by for mentioned problems, naming it as user error.
So I thought this information would help users out there to be careful when purchasing compatible atomizers and mods. The following link was found while I was browsing through reddit.
http://www.djlsbvapes.com/510-connectors-length/
It is a table of many common atomizers and popular devices' 510 connector lengths and 510 positive pin lengths.
Apologies for my terrible write up. Wanted to keep it short but failed. Mods, please feel free to move if it is under the wrong thread.
Happy vaping.
