Howsit guys, so my sx mini m class is pretty much stuffed. Seems like some juice might have found its way into the board.

Whats happening is that its just auto firing. Think it might be salvageable?
If theres anybody in jhb who would like to treat this as an experiment I wouldnt mind passing the mod over to see if you can fix this for me.

It should be worth a shot to pull the circuit board and give it a once over with meths and a toothbrush to remove any juice residue.

Pity you not in Durban, would help you out. There is a youtube video with review and disassembly if you need to try it yourself.

@Christos it seems like its soldered to the housing. Will check the disassembly vid that @Dave mentioned out and try to take a pic.

PG, VG and the 10% odd distilled water cannot conduct electricity at low voltages. You can soak your motherboard in the stuff and you will have no problem at all.
They are not corrosive either so even if they were, you would have an open circuit with no firing at all.
Seems like your problem is with the firing button. Try canned air.
