Introduction
Both the Colossal 80w device from Asmodus and Flow Pro tank from Wotofo have been about for around a year now but here we have a newly released kit pairing the two together in a collaboration between the American and Chinese manufacturers. The Flow Pro rather than the curved delrin drip tip and Wotofo coils in this kit comes with a Resin drip tip and coils manufactured by Asmodus. The Colossal is a single 18650 80w device which uses a swipe and touch display to operate. The device serves temp control users well coming with not just Ni200, Ti, and SS316 settings but also settings for SS304 and SS317. It features both TCR and TFR as well as having a comprehensive curves feature, so less of the waffling and let's find out if it's a suitable marriage!

Aesthetics and Ergonomics
The kit comes in cardboard packaging with viewing window, and on opening i was met by a Black version of the kit. The kit is also available in Blue, Red, Grey (Gunmetal) and White although bought separately both the Colossal and Flow Pro have other colour options. The build quality is evident when studied closely and handled and has quite some weight, it's a very solid device. The device has very few features and is pretty much a solid colour but this plain look is to a lot of peoples liking. The front of the device has a concave Silver round fire button towards the top which is nicely machined, centrally is the display. Both sides of the device the joint of the top battery cover is visible and on one side we have the Asmodus loge engraved. The spine is very curved for comfort and has some indentations which are purely aesthetic, the front is not curved but has very curved edging making the device very comfortable in the hand. The base of the device has printed safety marks and very generous venting, moving to the top we have a small 510 plate with Silver plated, spring loaded 510.

Flow Pro Overview
The Flow Pro is a refurbished version of the Flow tank, an extra 1mm in diameter (the Pro is 25mm), some aesthetically pleasing texturing top and bottom and added swivel top-fill system. Like the original Flow the coils are compatible with the Baby Beast and visa versa so many mainstream coils will fit. With this kit you don't receive Wotofo coils with the Flow Pro but instead you get 2 Asmodus 0.18ohm mesh coils which are rated between 40 and 60w with a best of recommendation of 50w (the specs for the Asmodus coils exactly match the usually included flow pro coils). The TPD version has a bung reducing the capacity to 2ml making it TPD compliant but as far as i'm aware their is no TPD version of this kit. The standard version comes pre-installed with a straight glass which has a capacity of 4ml, their is no 5ml bubble glass included with this kit, the spare is an identical 4ml straight glass. The drip tip is a standard 810 fitting and is a Resin Cobra style which is thick walled and very comfortable between the lips. The airflow control is tri cyclops with stopper which moves with nice resistance. The 510 protrudes nicely and the base also has branding and safety stamps. The top-fill system i like a lot, as you slide it back it also slightly rotates similar to a Baby Beast tank but with a lot better resistance (not as loose as a Baby Beast tank). The Flow Pro is very well made with good threading and machining and the only con that their was when i received the Flow Pro when it was first released has no been addressed as there is now a little arrow symbol to show where to push the top to open.

Fitting The Battery
The Colossal will only accommodate an 18650 battery which is a shame but then despite 21700 batteries now being readily available and plenty of devices accommodating them some people are reluctant to make the switch. To fit the battery the spine of the device needs removing which is done by gripping both sides of the device tightly and giving a tug. The spine isn't secured by magnets but simply uses a metal slid tightly over another metal layer with precision to secure the spine tightly. Along with the shape that also helps the fit the design is very good, there is no movement or rattle whatsoever, the battery is secured in place as well as i have experienced with any device. The battery compartment is neat and their is plenty of room to get access for battery removal, yet again the orientation is Black on Black which isn't easy to see. The last thing to mention is the micro USB port is positioned on the metal plate underneath the spines cover so the spine needs to be removed if charging or for any firmware upgrades.

The Display
The Display is very bright and sharp and seeing even the information that's given in small font can be read very easily both indoors and out. At the top of the display we have the mode with surround, underneath this is by default the wattage. Further down we have voltage and vape time to the left and resistance and puffs to the right. The bottom of the display has the battery status bar to the left and padlock to show if the screen is locked or unlocked to the right. central bottom is a box which contains different information such as pre-heat or curve setting position depending on which mode you are in.

Navigating the Colossal
The Colossal is the usual 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and 5 clicks takes you to the option of powering down. There is no navigational buttons and apart from the occasional click of the fire button to confirm an action the Colossal UI operates entirely by swipes and presses of the touch screen. When the touch screen hasn't been active in anyway for a few seconds it auto locks which is shown by the padlock being closed to unlock simply swipe downwards and the padlock opens allowing full operation of the screen. The wattage displayed centrally on the screen can be altered by pressing it which brings up - and + icons to press to alter, when in temp control the wattage is still displayed as default and can be altered in the same way but a short press alters the wattage to temperature which again when pressing allows you to alter it by pressing the - and + icons. By swiping sidewards at the top of the display where the mode is displayed scrolls through the different options which are, Power, Temp, Curve, TCR and TFR. Pressing Temp gives you the options of Ni200, SS316, SS304, SS317 and Ti, pressing TCR or TFR allows you to enter values. When in Curve mode pressing the wattage brings up a split screen on the left you can alter your different curve settings and on the right the duration of each of those settings. When in wattage swiping the screen upwards changes the preheat which is shown in the little box centrally at the bottom of the display, the options are Soft, Normal or Hard, the same can be done when in curves to choose between different curve settings as both settings and duration can also be set from the main screen.
There are other features which are accessed by clicking the fire button five times, this brings up the power symbol which if pressed powers the device down but if you swipe sidewards instead it scrolls through the remaining features which are, set resistance, unlock device method (choose between swiping downwards as described or 3 clicks), Version, Upgrade (you need to choose this for firmware upgrade), brightness, puff counter and puff limiter.
As i have not used an Asmodus device before it took a while to get use to how the UI worked but once i got to grips with it i liked the way it operates and the response of the touch screen both when swiping and pressing was faultless, very impressed!

Using The Kit
As usual i have to state i do not vape in temp control or have access to data so review devices simply as my own vaping experience using them. The device might be at least a year old but has all the features that newer devices have and temp control users are well looked after. I noticed the slightest of delays but not to the point that it's a con in my opinion as it's very slight. The device didn't misfire and wattage seemed very accurate, the curves feature is done very well and i like that the curve can be set from the main curve screen as well as going into the settings. Other than the fact due to it's age it will not accommodate a 21700 battery i can't find any faults with the device, the only other possible con is entirely objective on whether you like touch screen devices or prefer physical buttons. Personally i am partial to a touch screen device and both swipes and presses were registered faultlessly which impressed me as when this device originally came out touch screen device's were still very hit or miss. The Flow Pro i have used previously and is a very decent sub-ohm tank, the included Asmodus mesh coils gave good flavour, i used at 50w with half airflow for a restricted hit. Those that like more air and/or warmer vape will probably prefer turning the wattage up and after giving it a try the coils cope with up to 70w no problem giving good flavour across the board. The device will accommodate a 25mm atty with no overhang and even a 26mm looks perfectly ok in my opinion. Although using the device with the supplied coils at around the 50w-60w range means a battery isn't going to last all day, it still seemed efficient and the life was better than expected, a lower wattage MTL tank would suit the device very well, although i found the Colossal and Flow Pro a good marriage. I liked the Asmodus coils but they got through the liquid so the kit would of been better if the 5ml bubble glass was included.
