Battery disposal

Makro has a battery disposal bin I think.

Do you guys think it is safe to dispose of a lithium battery in one of those in store bins?

Sure, they have plenty of those 2032 lithium button batts and the smaller watch batts and I havent seen any issues, I figure that the batts are pretty flat by the time you toss them in there and shouldnt create any drama.

I've tossed one or two in the battery bins at pnp. I make sure to wrap the terminals with some insulation tape. I wouldn't want a fire in my fav PnP. One of my MNKE's died yesterday so dropping that in the bin tonight.

I was thinking the same thing last night. I had a power bank which died, and I opened it up to find two 18650 units inside... I looked at it, closed it back up, and gooi'd it in the trash...

Never dispose batteries in the trash. It might go BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. Take it to a Battery-Centre, or a place that sells vehicle batteries. They have proper procedures to dispose any battery.

I thought lithiums were environmentally friendly?.
