Hello all,

Have an issue that started a few days back with my Billet Box where the up/down buttons seem stuck or shorted, the button isn't physically stuck however the mod will cycle through wattage or modes on it's own.

I normally use the Flo Ti, but have tested with the insider to eliminate the atty being the issue, i removed the button cover front and back, the board by the up/down buttons had some condensation on which i cleaned up and to no avail.

Anyone had similar issues and have remedy or know who I can send the mod to for repair?

It usually happens if juice gets in behind the covers and onto the board at the back. I have lost one bb so far due to this.

A possible remedy that I have tried is to open all covers and clean areas front and back under button with alcohol, and put it in a sealed container with a moisture absorbing agent for a week or two. Have saved one so far, keeping fingers crossed for second one in at this moment. The sooner you start with the moisture absorber the better the chance of success. I bought quite a big household one from Builders but have seen it at I think checkers as well. Good luck with saving it.

Its a long story. Common issue with the older DNA boards.
How good are your soldering skills or general fine work skills?

Please don't open the mod if your fine motor skills are not great as the button is very brittle and will break.
I repeat, the button will break!

If you are semi decent with finer work I'll go through the effort of explaining what needs to happen to fix it.
Come to think of it, I have forgotten to tell @Rooigevaar How to fix this.

The alternative is to send it back to billet box vapour for a repair.

I can do it but it will void your warranty.
P.s. I have done it before.

So the older bb boards look like this:

Note the up and down switch on the board.

The new DNA 60 boards look like this:

Note the up and down buttons that are on the board are missing.

The issue is not the up down extension board on the BB but the up down buttons on the physical board.

Option 1 for self fix.

Desolder the up down button joints as it's a cold solder that has come lose that is causing your issue.

Option 2

Use a pair of Plato cutters to cut the up or down button out taking care to to damage the board.
The up down is not needed on the physical board.

Please be aware that the button is held by a wafer thin PCB that is extremely brittle and will break with the slightest of movement if you are not careful.

@Rooigevaar you should find this useful.

Thanks for the info @Christos , i believe mine is the older board so will see if re-soldering the buttons will work

worst case i will get hold of an SXK with a DNA chip and change out the boards.

@Christos Mine doesn't have buttons soldered onto the main board

Ok. Check the red and black wires coming out of the board are still soldered.

If you apply some heat with a hairdryer the button board should come out with a slight push and you can just check the soldering on the up down board as well.

@Christos looks like the physical up button damaged

I may have a spare one. Just need to ckeck if i have it and how much it cost me.
That would be great, thanks
Otherwise I'll just get an Sxk at some point and strip out the board

It's fixed now, seems like the problem was a stuck button from juice.

Thanks for the help
