Hi everyone, so to cut a long story short, the below vape burned for no apparent reason (new battery, locked and not in use) The battery that was in there decided to burn for some reason, could have been a faulty battery or device, both were fairly new. My question is can someone locally repair it for a reasonable price as there is no funds to replace this unit. PLEASE HELP!!! this is an ex smokers device.iStick 100w.jpeg

Ouch! Sorry to see this. Although glad it didn't become a fire...
My worry is not so much the outside, but what has been damaged inside.

We were at Mike's kitchen when we all smelled a funky burning/chemical smell, later on the owner took out the vape and it had burned to this extent, the aluminium battery cover also melted a little, the owner cant really get a new device right now so we are trying to help out with a repair or sourcing another device, for now I have borrowed the owner my bronze evic vtc mini as a temporary solution.

I suspect that the device will need to be replaced, any number of things could have gone wrong, safer to get a new one with new good quality batteries.

I'm quite curious to know what battery was in the device when it vented.

I agree that there are a huge number of variables to what caused this, could have been the battery itself or a faulty mod.
The vape was powered off and locked at the time, both the device and batteries were about 1.5-2 months old and the batteries were charged with a proper charger through no more than 25 to 30 cycles.
For the sake of curiosity, the battery was a Tesiyi battery.
