I was wondering if I'd get the same nicotine hit from an vape like I do with an cigarette? the experience I've had with vapes, it didn't really calm my nicotine crave

The answer is no. Cigarettes, with all the other harmful chemicals give much more nicotine hit than a vape. However, if you use higher nicotine juice in your vape, you'll feel much more satisfied. How many mg is the juice you're vaping?

It appears that there is both a difference in the composition of the nicotine (more chemicals added to cigarettes) and the physical up-take of nicotine (smoking delivers the quickest up-take) in cigarettes. Patches and nicotine gum equally do not give the same immediate sense of satisfaction as smoking. So if you want to quit the hazards of nicotine via combustion of organic material, it seems you have have to tough it out and make do with less nic hit from smoking cessation aids. It's well worth it, though. Every day that you do without a cigarette, you are distancing your body from the need for that immediate and heavy nicotine hit from smoking. Considering that many millions of smokers have quit cold turkey without any nicotine substitute at all, it is eminently doable.

One of my initial challenges was this exact problem i experienced.

My way to solve it, was to search for high vg, high nicotine levels in my ejuice.

I tried a 24mg - and that was too strong
I tried a 18mg - too strong

I finally settled on 12mg and 100% Vg, and it has worked, and helped me off the stinkies, to the point where i just put the pack down, and never picked them up again, and that was 6 months ago.

At this moment, i have a mix of Nic levels, 12 for in the day, 9 and 6 for early mornings and late nights.

I want to get off the 12 over the next few weeks down to 9 and so on.

As previous members have stated, the nic absorption from vape is gentle and seems to absorb over a longer period compared to the fast , hard and short lived "hit" a cig gives, tobacco cravings are not strictly due to nicotine, the compounds formed from burning organic matter (not to mention the nasty additives!) are definitely a contributing factor wich a vape simply wont satisfy, thats why we tend to vape so much when we first switch, once the those cravings subside, you will be able to enjoy your vape sessions and most likely prefer it to a stinky (i along with many vapers no longer have the itch or desire for any tobacco product)

I have found my happy DIY spot at 9mg nicotine. I also make a few 12mg bottles, just for those moments when life shows its dark side.

I agree, a cigarette gives a quicker, more satisfying nicotine hit. This is due to the combustion and added chemicals to make it more addictive. But all you have to do is just chain vape on a low wattage a bit if you are still craving.
