I have two questions, the main one being: Does a closed or almost-closed airflow increase nic absorption i.e. more nic being absorbed because less is lost in the vapour?

The second one is this: On some mods it is possible to vape with the airflow completely closed. What, if any, are the consequence?

Hi @Hooked

I think reducing the airflow will likely lead to less vapour produced. It tends to make the vapour a bit richer in flavour. I dont think it makes a huge difference on the nic, my feeling is its about the same nic, just a bit more concentrated in less air.

As for reducing airflow completely or to a very tight setting, it tends to make the coil run hotter, so one should turn down the power a bit to avoid burning out the coil/wick

Thanks @Silver. Yes, it's true that less vapour is produced on a tight setting. As for the coil, the person (a new vaper) is using an unregulated mod, but I'll let her know what you said. If the coil is running hot then it's not going to last long.

And, by the way, she's doing a sterling job of vaping! Since she started vaping almost 2 weeks ago she hasn't touched a stinkie  :band:

Less vapour into your lungs, less nicotine absorption. That is why MTL vapers tend to use higher nicotine juices.
