One of my batt chargers has new issues to deal with. Two of the bay springs have popped off the negative and positive contact bars and remain on the inside out of sight someplace that is rendering those two bays all but unusable.

Has anyone ever taken one apart without damaging it further? If so how?

No screws anywhere, so I've tried wedging the top and bottom apart in the center groove that goes all the way around the charger in several places, including on opposite locations at the same time and have only managed to mar the plastic so far. Same with trying to drive them apart with a punch.

I'd just toss it and buy another "something" if I could decide on what charger to replace it with (at least 4 bays). While I have got long good service out of both of my LUC chargers I do not like that they can scratch covers off the batteries if you are not careful getting the batts out.

I am having the same issue. Hopefully someone else have a solution.

Been "shopping" chargers during the night and thinking about getting a 6 or 8 bay to replace the above Efest LUC 4.

The Enova GYRFALCON All-88 8 Bay is maybe a maybe. All 8 bays are individually programmable, so all kinds of batteries mixed together can be charging at the same time to the specs for each you program in.

I don't have the Efest LUC so this might not be relevant. I repack my own battery packs (Radio and computer) and to get them open I freeze them and then tap them along the seams with the rubber handle of a screwdriver. This works to break the seal on most and a rubber mallet is used if that does not work. Place the item on a hard surface with cloth to protect and bash till it splits. Use general sense on force applied as if you hit it too hard it will split open just not along the seams. If this has an LCD screen I would not freeze it, just try tapping along the seam with the rubber handle of a screwdriver carefully.

Same happened to my 4bay just folded cardboard thick enough to create perfect size for 18650 and off you go. Bay becomes usable it's not ideal but as stated no screws to open and with the risk of damaging further my solution worked for me.
Hope this helps

Overkill some maybe, but with something between 80-90 batteries for vaping having 14 bays for charging them a plus.

I did try to drive it apart... didn't work. But thanks for the idea.

I might just put a spring on the outside behind the arm. Will also work i think

I have been using it doing the exact same thing in two bays. Not worth the trouble though when these don't cost that much. I'll probably just buy the more expensive 8 bay and one or two more 4 bay chargers (or 3 more 4 bay) and toss this one out. With endless single and dual batt mech's and TC mods that use them up fairly fast I can always use the extra charger bays.

I won't buy any more LUC's this time around though even though they have two 6 bay models now. Maybe more Xtar's or try out some Nitecore's and the Enova.
