Hi all,

I apologize if this is in the wrong section.
I started asking around about kit yesterday and got a few replies going with the Nautilus Mini and eLeaf 20 or 30W.

I saw a few ads on the Kanger Protank 2, which is quite a bit cheaper than the Nautilus.
Are there any other tanks in the same price range as the Nautilus and below that will function as well? Are there any tanks that will function well on an X6 battery?

Thanks

The x6 is a vv ego style battery similar to the spinner 2.

You can look at the protank2 and a few of the mini tanks but your best best is going to be the mAN because of the bvc coils.

If your looking at saving on the cost then consider the aspire k1. It's smaller than the mAN but has the exact same style coils and is about half the price.

Also won't have that bulbous look on your battery.

You can't go wrong with a Nautilus as an all day vape. Try the Aerotank Mega as an alternative if you want more capacity. I had them both and preferred the Aerotank Mega for it's capacity and personal flavour preference for desert type flavours. The Nautilus beat it for fruity flavours and is more reliable in terms of not leaking. Personally though I like having the extra capacity and can deal with the occasional gurgle leak with a piece of tissue for the flavour. I wouldn't waste my money "again" on the cheaper tanks

mAN? Sorry, but I have no idea what that means

Also been seeing a few comments on sub-ohm and not sub-ohm. What is the main difference here?

Looks like mAN = mini Aspire Nautilus

In short, subohm is a lot more intense and needs a lot more power. I think it a process and you should use 1 of the 2 devices I mentioned with with variable wattage first before venturing into subohm. Subohm is quite intense for a start, kinda like going straight to a Bugatti Veyron from getting your licence, except it doesn't have ABS, EBD etc.

If you want to prepare for it, consider the Subtank mini. Get standard 1.5ohm Kangertech coils first which essentially make it an Aerotank Mega. Then move on to the 1.2ohm OCC when you ready and then subohm OCC and/or RBA

Thanks, that makes more sense :)

Sub ohm is a coil that is lower than 1 ohm.

So these are your hand built coils in rebuildable drippers and tanks and the commercial coils found in the subtank mini and aspire altantis.

The main thing to know about going sub ohm is you make huge clouds.

To start off you need a decent mod, your battery is not capable of that type of power.

So a mech mod or a regulated mod that can fire lower than 1 ohm is needed

The eleaf 20w is not capable of sub ohm coils because it can only fire down to 1ohm

The 30w is ideal . You can get any tank for it and then just upgrade from there to rebuildables .

It can fire up to 0.5ohm builds

Hi @Viper_SA

Sub-ohm refers to the resistance of the coil being lower than 1 ohm.

When the resistance of the coil is lower, it means typically that it uses a thicker wire and can if you want produce lots of power. If you use a mechanical power source (without electronics) then the power you get will be dependent on the resistance of the coil. There is an equation called ohms law which can be written in many ways. One way is P=V squared/R. So as the resistance goes down, the power goes up. The voltage is constant in a mechanical device.

In a regulated device with electronics you can adjust the power to what you like. Some devices allow you to go up to 20 Watts of power, yet some go up to 150 Watts.

So you can use whatever power you want. But if the coil is not a sub ohm coil it typically uses thinner wire and cant use as much power. The wire gets too hot. The thicker wire sub ohm coils can take a lot more power.

More power means more vapour, more throat hit and depending on the coil and the atomiser, more flavour too. It also means you will need a lower nicotine juice to get the same effect as a lower power setup.

You should try "non sub ohm coils" at lower power and if you have the gear try sub ohm coils at higher power. That way you will know what feels best for you. Trying out other guys' gear at vapemeets is always a good way of seeing what its like.

Hope that helps a bit

An important thing to remember is powering up you coil.

So ego style batteries like yours doesn't have subohm capability. The battery simply cannot fire that coil. The next thing is for a decent Vape you will need more wattage of power which means you need to upgrade your mod.
