So today I decided to dig out my old Black ring and I havnt used this in a good few months.

Popped a fresh battery and atty on there and went for my first hit and... nothing...

After trying out every possible fix i could think of from taking the magnets out and replacing them with a spring nothing worked...

Eventually I looked carefully at the button itself and where the button actually connects to the mod i noticed that it was covered in a black coating and so i checked the holder for it and it was covered too.

I didnt think much of it but decided to polish it off with some brasso and a lot of elbow greese and immediately afterward i had done so in a final attempt i put it back together and it worked.

Not sure if it is carbon buildup form arching or just corrosion but it worked for me. Will attach pics tomorrow of the region.

My fix for mechs is surgical spirits on contacts... no elbow grease required just a earbud dipped in and the funk literally disappears off the mod

... really? Wow never heard of that.

There is still some buildup i have yet to clean it completely but this is where the issue was

Cleaned the outer of the button and the inner of the tube

Problem solved
