I also have a hammer mod, the voltage drop is a dead easy fix, that basically involves wrapping some standard copper wire around a 1mm mandrel, and then inserting that inside the spring that is installed inside the 510 connection.

Yip that one or replacement of the spring with a better conductor
Some use 2 springs joint so there's more conductivity
