I took delivery of my HCigar VT200 today.
Here's my brief synopsis:
  • Build quality is good
  • 510 connector is super smooth
  • It is quite compact for a 200w device thanks to it's 1300mah LiPo battery pack (I think its 1300mah per cell, which makes it 3900mah in total since there are 3 cells)
  • Bright, high DPI screen is clear and crisp
  • Works straight out of the box, although configuring the device with Escribe is highly recommended
  • The silver one I have is a lot shinier than I expected, almost chrome looking - perhaps the black would've looked better - it's growing on me though
  • The buttons are a little mushy, but this is the same for all Evolv DNA 200 equiped devices as the buttons are built right onto the board, and not by 3rd party mod companies
  • The mod seems to have been designed for 22mm tanks/drippers. So 23mm devices will have a slight overhang
  • You only get a usb cable along with the actual mod in the box. No wall charger. The mod charges at 1amp, just like most mods. Note, a conventional laptop/PC usb port is 0.5amp, so charging will be slow if you go that route. Rather use your cellphone charger or mod charger.
Compared to my iStick 50w, it vapes great. It seems to be much gentler on my coil because it constantly measures voltage and resistance while vaping. I'm really happy with it thus far. Will post if I run into any issues.

Cool review buddy :)

I'm really interested in knowing how this performs , especially compared to your Istick

Hey bud, I'm still waiting for 6ml Aromamizer RDTA stock, so I'm using my trusted Subtank Mini on it for now. The setup for the tanks is a 5 wrap 24 gauge Kanthal coil at 0.38 ohms. The iStick 50w is a fantastic mod for beginners. However, this HCigar is leaps and bounds ahead when it comes to customisability and configurability. Also, you'll have the extra power headroom so you should be future proof.

I'm more interested in the battery life. The Istick has lipo batteries in them as well. Would be good to see the comparison of a 5000mah battery vs the 3 cell

If I'm not mistaken, the istick 50w is a 4400mah battery. So yes, that will have better battery life than the HCigar, in the same way that a Golf GTI will have better fuel consumption than a BMW M6... LOL

@AlphaDog ,I've been enjoying my VT200 for a couple of months now and I love it.It gives a consistently smooth vape , the look and feel of this mod is great. It goes with out saying that the DNA200 chip is amazing. They may have stretched the battery power a tad but the lipo thing is a horse of a different color anyway. That being my only con I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.btw I've been using a wall adapter to charge and it works well.

Great writeup @AlphaDog
I enjoyed reading it
Let us know how it goes...

Just a heads up, i connected the mod to my pc and opened up Escribe. There was a firmware update. Also, you need to set the battery to 14.43 watt hours, not the default 9. Use the watt hour calculator and put in 1300mah. The volts should remain untouched at 11.1v. Once the value changed, upload this new setting to the mod.
