Some of you know that I've been experiencing a few problems with my iJust S. I might just be unlucky, a friend of mine has had no issues with his and mine is only like new (say approx 3 months)

Battery is fully charged so the "no-battery" is out of the question here in this problem. For some reason, I found that unscrewing my atty from the battery a bit helps but it seems to be getting worse or is it just my imagination?

I can't just send the whole thing back as the warranty / guarantee is voided because it just fell off my desk and the glass shattered so I've just ordered a new glass part. I think I"m having bad luck because the first thing to break was the drip tip and now the glass. LOL.

Now to focus on the issue why I need to unscrew the atty a bit to get it working - when it's fully screwed in (not too tight), it acts like it's shorting or the cut-off is doing it, preventing me from using it. Maybe I got some e-liquid into the switch as I tried very quickly to clean up the mess, after the glass shattered. But then the problem has been way before this happened so not sure what is going on.

Is it the battery shot or is it the atty causing the problem? I do not have spares to test with (my being an IT Technician for over 10 years, I should know that spares are needed for testing). So I'm wondering if anyone else out there has has the same issue and has it been solved?

@Muhammad Peer I send you a pm because I cannot post in the classifieds to see if the battery you have for sale is still available - not gotten an answer from you yet. I need a spare battery anyway so that when one depletes, I can use the spare while the other charges. Much more practical for me IMHO.

Hi, I must admit to having little knowledge of the ijust device but the problem you are describing sounds similar to what i had on a kbox.

The positive pin of the atty (copper piece in the middle) was sticking out to far causing the positive pin in the atty to breach the isolator and touch the negative parts surrounding it. See if you can adjust the atty positive pin to stick out less, this may solve your problem.

Keep us posted please.

Good luck!

@Raindance: No go. I gave it a good cleaning as well, it was working for a bit and then back to square one. I'm thinking it's the battery as the cleaning was done on the screw end - when I had to cleaned the first time, it was working great but for some reason, it got dirty again from screwing the atty in and it got dirty again but after another cleaning, it no longer wants to work. Flashing 5 times every time I try.

Maybe it's time for me to do an upgrade? Or just start over with a new kit?

Having a problem like this does make you loose confidence in the device and takes away from how you experience vaping. So, although it is not my decision to make, in your shoes i would go for an upgrade.

Yeah might as well start saving for a better one. I somehow managed to get it working again so am not unscrewing unless i have to. Luckily the atty part can unscrew to change coils without having to remove the battery. So that's a good thing.

What would be the best to upgrade to? An istick pico?

So many good mods out there! Pico is good yes but even twisp is bringing out good kits these days. @Hooked, i know you upgraded recently, care to assist seeing you also used an ijust device?

Regards

Look at the AL85. About the same price as Pico but has the benefit of 24mm rta's sitting flush. Same battery life but better build quality IMO. Plus it has the same awesome "fire bar" as with the full size allien

Post pics of your pin on rta and contact on the battery. Maybe one of the guys here will be able pick up where the issue is

I have an iJust S and I've had no problems with it - other than the fact that I hate vaping with it! Feels like an exhaust pipe!

See my post of today

I bought a Twisp Mini Vega and I absolutely love it. It's small though so for a guy with big hands it wouldn't be comfortable. For a guy with small hands, or for a gal, it's perfect. It's my go-to device for vaping. However, I bought a Gusto Mini 2 days ago and I'm going to post now in Vape Mail and also discuss it in a separate thread, so look out for it. The Gusto Mini is awesome!

LOL I guess it suits each person differently. I pretty much like the vaping experience but lately it's become a bit too slow for me on the draw-in of the vape so I probably will need something that will be better for my needs.

I'm a pretty heavy vaper with lots of clouds - I once took a video of my vaping and you could barely see me in it. So I need something that can handle it for me.

@Hooked I've had a few bad experiences with Twisp so I will never ever buy from them again. I still have the Twisp Clearo (original from when it came out) - coils burn way too quick and I'm going to be honest with you - Twisp's prices for their products are way over-priced. The juices are horrible, compared to the ones I got from VapeAfrica and VapeKing.

I'm glad I got into the DIY scene - making my own flavours and also the fact that I can add more VG for a thicker juice too (sometimes when I vape, I find that I suck too quickly or that the coil is a bit hot, making the juice more runny - ending up with a bubbling in the coil and then dripping into the bottom so since I've made mine thicker, that issue has mostly gone away).

Actually, I wouldn't mind a small vaping mod/device - my hands are small so small mods will do great for me. Thing is when I upgrade, I will have to learn how to make my own coils...

@RainstormZA you can use ANY brand of juice in the Mini Vega and I've never used Twisp juice! However, I was told today, after not being able to get any taste from a juice that I'd put in, that VG/PG 80/20 wouldn't work. No problem for me, as 99% of my juices are 70/30.

But ... you most certainly won't get clouds from this one! You could use it for stealth vaping though!

Ok I'm thinking of going for the iStick Pico

I see it uses the same atty / coil as the iJust S. Best part about this is that I won't need to deal with battery issues like I have with this iJust S. Apparently now the inner battery screw is, well, screwed, excuse the pun but its not longer screwing in properly and for some reason it seems to be of inferior quality (it appears to be copper but not too sure) as some how it's damaged so easily when the coil / atty still looks in good condition.

So I think I'll go for a Pico in the meantime and buy myself an early Christmas present.

Good choice, you will not be disappointed. Remember to get a 18650 battery as well. Samsung r25, q30 or lg hg2 (chock) are god choices. Sommer get two and an external charger if possible. Makes life a lot easier.

Good luck.

Yeah was thinking the same thing - already got a charger as my mouse is wireless and uses batteries too.

Oooooh! These are not penlight batteries, they will not fit into a Pick&pay charger and please be careful with them. I am on my tablet now so copying and pasting links is out of my abilities on this touch screen thingy so please search and read some threads on battery safety before handling them.

Regards

NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We don't use AA/AAA type batteries. The ones used in vape mods are high amp internal batteries IE laptop battery packs. Plug that into a Energiser charger isn't a good idea. A charger will cost you about R250 - R300 for a 2 battery charger.

If you ever escape from Mooi River for a day to Durban, pop into a shop here. Ohm My is just off the M13 at the bottom end of Fields Hill & Sir Vape is on the old Essenwood Rd. Have a look at the devices and take it from there.

Have you tried tightening/changing the coil. Used to have the same issue on mine and was often the coil being loose or a dud coil.

@Evil_Toast: The last time I escaped to Durban was more than 3 years ago, in fact I can't remember when I was last in Durban.

I was trapped up there in Mooi River for over 2 years building Spring Grove dam so you have my sympathies! :--P

https://www.sirvape.co.za/ - Has a wide selection of stuff to browse and an online chat thingy (I think...) for questions. Based in Durbs.

Tried that - tried everything out of the book that I could think of. It's the battery that's being a doofus. For some reason, the quality of the battery is not the same as the quality of the atty screw so I"m screwed now. Have to use the Twisp Clearo for the mean time til I get the new Pico.
