So I recently bought a wismec neutron, and it comes with the cool feature of being able to re-configure the posts to have series circuit for the coils - of course after my first cotton change I needed to try this out.

You have to completely disassemble the RDA to do this, the RDA has no instructions, but it's pretty easy to figure out. It actually works quite well, had some fun, but wanted to go back to my old coils, disassemble again, reconfigure, mount on tab and start dry firing to clear up the coils, then I see the ohms jumping all over the place, and a rather large spark pops forth, cue the tab flashing a warning at me.

After eye-balling everything, checking the posts, checking the insulator, I chuck the coils and decide to test with a single small coil, same results minus spark, so I disassemble and rebuild, rinse and repeat about another three or four times, and with the way the deck is laid out you have to remove all four posts in order to get to the pin and check everything, eventually I find that a little piece of something or other has found its way in between the insulator in the pin and the threads. Finally everything is ops normal.

Anyone else have any stories on how they almost lost an eyebrow or the like?

Does standing inside a giant spark count ?

Fortunately I had one of these on .... maybe they can be useful to us vapers too

I probably needed one of these when I had my light-switch moment, I live in a semi-ancient house, one night I went to get some coffee, when I placed my hand on the switch, the plate fell off and fingers went inside and I managed to touch both leads, I'm guessing my board is at least still functional because I only got a small "eina" and the lights tripped.

No sparks or shocking, but I experienced too many burns and flames. Touching coils by accident after dry firing... would have been worse if I didnt have guitar fingers (guitarist will understand).

Also had cotton catch alight once. I think this was related to a loose post screw. The coil leads tend to heat up rapidly instead of the coil itself. Who knows though.
