So looking at getting another squonk mod for myself come end of the month when I get paid.

Absolutely love my RSQ and was thinking of getting another one but the LV therion has caught my eye.

Done a bit of research and it seems very well received from reviewers. I know alot of them say the battery is a pain ie taking it out etc.

But other than that, is it really worth the £100 that I can get it for??

Just to let you guys know I have the lost vape dna200 triade mod so I know how painful putting and removing batteries are. The amount of times I’ve torn a battery wrap lol.

@Yas786 I also thought the removing the battery thing was gonna be a pain, but after the third or fourth time I'd done it, it was no longer an issue. Takes me seconds now to replace a battery.

So if that's your only issue with the Therion then you won't have any problems.

I don’t think it’s going to be a huge issue because as I said I’ve got the lost vape triade and getting 3 batteries in there can be a chore.

Saying that I need to sell that to fund the therion. Great mod but too heavy and cumbersome to carry around.

It’s a shame I can’t sell it in here as I’m from the U.K. so shipping would be pretty expensive:O

@Yas786 the Therion bf is a awesome device.
The build quality is top notch as are the finishings.
The dna 75C is the best chipset i have ever used in a device and is so much easier to use than the older dna chipsets.

You will not regreat buying the Mod as long as you enjoy squonking and as long as you planning on using it at low wattage between 40W Max , else you will be changing batts every 2 hours.

If you planning on using it every day out and about i would opt for the silver body as the black will get scratched but the black does look so dam sexy.

Hey thanks bud for replying.
Yeh I’m not a high wattage vaper, on my rsq squonker I don’t go over 50watts if at all...usually I vape at 40watts.

That’s the other issue I have with the lost vape mods, the paint on them aren’t that great sadly. My triade is scratched to hell and back.

So I guess the therion is the same ie flaky paint job?? If I am getting one I’d be getting the all black carbon fibre and black leather version. Although my silver dead rabbit sq looks weird on my black rsq lol.

The paint is not bad om the black version but it will show signs of wear under your mod if used on a daily basis.

I only use mine (black version) at home and in 3 months it still looks good as new.

Hmm I see, oh well I’ve decided to get one so will see how it goes lol.
Thanks for the advice

The functionality and feel of these mods is rock solid, battery in and out is something you get used to but not to much of a pain and the board is awesome.

My only issue apart from my refill bottle been confiscated at Singapore customs (my fault) is the paint on the door. Did not take it long to start bubbling and scratching off.

My friend has a Therion 166. I think it's really great and always wanted one, until I started using his. He has paint fading rather badly too, it eats wraps but as mentioned that becomes easier with use. But the one thing that put me off for good was that his fire button gets stuck with every 3rd puff. This is a huge problem and is found on hundreds if not thousands of these mods. I have no idea if the problem was fixed, but the design for the button looks the same on newer models. I can't justify the price just to get a finicky button. Wondering if anyone else has this issue?

I have a 166, 75 bf and 75c bf, all of them used on a regular basis. I have never had a problem with the fire buttons. Can only assume that juice had been allowed to collect on and behind the fire button so if you make sure that any leaks or spills are cleaned immediately there should be no problems in my experience

Hey bud, the fire button gets stuck under the chassis. It's not from juice build up at all it's a physical defect. It will lock like this in all four directions unless you hit it dead center.

Hi @Spyro, not the first mention of fire button problems I've seen but did not know they were that common though. My 166 has been a daily driver until recently and has been in use daily for a year.

The action of these buttons is very light and it is activated more by touch than a press, if you know what I mean. I think the problem lies with us sometimes being a bit to heavy handed and putting too much force on the button. The button is supported by a four legged version of the battery cover retention spring thingy on the bottom left hand side of the mod. This button "sled" is part of the pc board holder and with too much force being applied the legs snap.

Not too difficult to repair (Did it on my Skar) although the Therion is a bit of a dog to take apart.

Although this does not justify what could be considered an area needing to be improved, I would not allow this to put me off buying any Lost Vapes product at all. Just be gentle pressing her buttons, she is a lady after all.

Regards

Great point, I have updated my post to show the exact problem. It will lock in all directions and it is a common problem. It may well be due to user negligence. But it started within a month of owning the device. I don't own one anymore and didn't have any problem with my 75C version (only had it for two weeks) found out about the defect and sold it before it happened to mine.

But I have seen many of them with this issue and it's exclusive to the therion range as far as I know.

@Spyro I have a 166 bought new and a 75 bought secondhand. The 75 has the same issue if you press it wrong, and hard. The difference in the button tension felt between the 2 is quite obvious, and I am responsible for this, I think as I was using the same force as with the Aegis, thinking you have to press until the button stops for it to fire.

Based on this I use a very light touch on the 166, and have gotten used to the 75, also with light touch so not a problem in my eyes anymore. I haven't had a misfire due to stoppage since I figured it out. And I make sure to lock when not in my hand or hiding in a pocket.

I think we all have dead battery syndrome, where you press the button harder on the remote when the battery starts going flat, thinking it will work better.:D
They are both excellent mods and I will not swop either of them for anything. Both have changed my vaping style dramatically and their performance is unparalleled imho, smooth like a freshly shaved something or the other;), and immediate.

Where can I get directions on the fix @Raindance , although not a major upset I would like to service and fix, so that it is perfect again.

I know you used to be able to send them to Evolve? The guys who make the DNA boards. And they would repair it for free. I believe adding a buffer between the button and the door to prevent you from pushing it in too far. But I wouldn't send a device to the US for that.

If you want to DIY it I would suggest watching DJLSB Vapes and watch the tear down. Then find a fix that works for you.

There may probably be video's on youtube and reddit although I have not searched myself. The difficult part would be disassembly of the mod. Two screws behind each of the side panels which are attached with double sided tape and a struggle to remove without damaging the mod, that I know.

I repaired my Skar which had one of those legs broken but did not take pictures nor would taking it apart be similar to the Therion.

Repairing the legs was done by using Qbond with surgical precision to re-attach and strengthen the broken leg. A tedious task as things can go south quickly if you use to much or get other stuff stuck to it.

My motto is that if it is not broken to such an extent that I can not live with it, rather not try fix it. In other words, if not fixing it means its useless to me then take action, a flop will not put you in a worse position but success will improve the situation as I have nothing to loose.

Hey guys well looks like the day I tried to buy the therion bf squonk mod, FT decided to discontinue the whole range :/.

So looks like I’ll have to get it from here in the U.K., which isn’t a problem but I’ll be paying a lot more. One of the reasons why I wanted to get it from FT.

@Yas786 , at least this way you have local backup on the odd chance of a problem.

Sometimes the savings made are merely deferred expenses and frustration that simply pop up at a later date.

Regards.

That is very true but touch wood every mod I’ve boyght from FT has never failed on me as of yet.

But yes the saving of £30 would have helped but nevermind I guess when the local vape store had the colour I want in stock, I’ll grab one.
