Hey guys.

I was about to put my paired LG HG2's in my charger when I dropped one of them on the floor tiles, fall was probably less than a meter. After some profanity I picked it up for inspection(no visible damage) and then held it up to my ear.

I heard a bit of hissing, no liquid came out though, I placed it inside a cup and the cup inside my sink and left it there, about 30min later I came back to it, battery was room temperature but could still hear a sporadic sort of crackling sound when holding the positive side of it to my ear. I went and checked on it again now(3hours later). No more sound from it and it's still room temperature. I also still can't visibly tell if liquid came out at all.

My questions:

Toss it or is it okay?

And if I do replace, should I buy a new pair, or just one new one to go with my other one that is fine?

Throw away. Batteries are not supposed to make any sound at all. Better be safe than sorry.
How old are the batteries? If not older than a few weeks, then just buy one. If it's been used a lot, rather buy a pair and keep that one for a spare.
In a dual device, married batteries are to be used. So it will be better to buy a pair, specially if the others were used for more than few weeks I'd say.
Other may not agree with me though. :)

You are welcome :)

They are 7days old tomorrow. I'll just pick up one new one then. Thanks again :)

Shouldn't be a problem picking up just one. I've used batteries that were about two weeks apart and they worked great together. You could say I'm a battery cupid.....hehehe

Well fire an arrow this way :D

It's only for my Sigelei, but it's my go to device, all day 'err day. I still have my pair of HE2's. I've ordered the replacement, hope courier guy's same day express from @KieranD is up to the task tomorrow.

What I remember from pairing batteries is that you should have two of the same age and state as a preference. Even from the same lot if possible. Otherwise the older/weaker battery will be stressed. Not sure if this is that critical though.

I very rarely draw 15A or more, think it should be okay.
