Well I knew I would experience it one day. Ah the rumored venting. I always paid my due diligence to wrap safe coils, keep coins out of my pockets etc. Well today something in the matrix fucked up. Throughout the day me and my friend trade batteries, today he only had one, and I'd given him a Purple Efest. We end up going back to his house, and neither of us are too caring of where our batteries are assuming the other had them, or they were on a table somewhere. He falls asleep for a nap, intentionally setting his mod down and checking his pockets so no mishaps would occur. As I'm beginning to fall asleep, a couple minutes go by, and all of a sudden I see a huge burst of orange light. It looks like the sparks from a welding machine or a grinding wheel, times two, and condensed in a small space. I scream, "GET THE **** UP DUDE" to which he jolts awake and moves away and takes his pants off thinking the battery may be in them. I run over to the couch, flip it over, smother the fires that have been created from the venting battery. There's still a fire inside the couch, and I put it out. Unfortunately my friend did receive first degree superficial burns and is in some pain. From this, I've learned, a couple things. A. the real MVP of this situation is the WiiBoard, a WiiBoard was under the couch and the battery burned it's way through the couch landing on a WiiBoard and melting some of it, but not catching on fire, it rolls onto the carpet starts catching on fire, and i'm smothering it with a shirt. B. Never ever lose sight of your ******* batteries. it's not worth it. C. Batteries get ******* hot, although I didn't, NEVER touch a venting battery with your hand.

TL;DR Batteries hard shorted on a couch because we lost track of our batteries.

WARNING, THE PICTURES DO HAVE MINOR AMOUNTS OF "GORE" (first degree burns)
