I order everything online and, without fail, I receive a packing slip with the order. What a waste of paper! I can easily check the contents of the package against my order which was emailed to me or in My Account on the vendor's website .

We have technology at our fingertips, so why use paper?

The same thing applies to credit card receipts when buying something in a shop (any shop). Is it really necessary to get a print-out? A local coffee shop has a good system of sending the credit card receipt to one's phone. No paper is involved at any stage.

Never mind a No Clone Zone. Vendors need to become a NO PAPER ZONE.

I'm fine with using paper, recycled or not, we are moving to a more sustainable model where packaging and paper is concerned.
You do raise a valid point thought, why use any if it's not required.
However, as mentioned above, there's good clean sustainable paper and then there's bad. The credit card slips are the absolute worst offender. The chemicals and ink used reek havoc on not only the environment but your health.
once you see the side effects you'll probably never ever want to touch one again. i certainly won't.

You can request that it doesn't print a receipt for you. You can ask the guy behind the till but they usually just want to take your money and send you on your way. Guilty from my experience working in retail...

Or when you type your pin in the card machine after it says approved it will as if you want a receipt. Just say no and it will only print the receipt for the shop.
