Ordering DIY Concentrates - International

Hi Guys,

Firstly apologies to the mods if this is in the wrong section.

Would like some input from anyone regarding ordering concentrates online from an international vendor. In particular TFA / TPA Kentucky Bourbon seeing it is on the banned list from TFA directly and no one locally seems to have any. Found a site in OZ that has stock of 80ml and including shipping comes to 600 bucks. 2-4 Business days with express courier.

Any issues with Customs etc on the importing of this and any duties payable?

I would imagine it would be a pretty big problem. The reason it is 'banned' in South Africa is because of the low flash point (less than 100 degrees f) and This becomes a problem on a plane, potential explosions and all that.

There is a chance you might not get caught but I really wouldn't take the chance. It would be at your risk as you should be aware of local laws and regulations when importing.

Edit: just to clarify is is a really bad idea, rather just use a substitute and don't take the chance.

@Soutie , appreciate the input thanks. Problem i have is that normal bourbon doesnt give the same flavor profile and cant seem to find a substitute. Used this in a castle long clone and is a key ingredient. Any one willing to part with stock on hand as a private sale?
