Perfect pairings (mod and juice)

Hi all

Am interested in finding out how many of you get a pefect mod and juice pairing and then keep it like that for a long time.

or do you mix it up as you go?



What Im talking about here is that moment when youve tried so many configurations and finally you have a match made in heaven. Where the coil, the wick, the airflow amd the power are just perfect for that juice. And of course, you love the juice. It's a moment where you just smile and know that it all worked so well. Magical and special.

I have some setups that have taken me ages to get to my perfect taste and experience. And I have kept them paired for a long time. Different types of vapes and sifferent flavours for different vaping needs. But these setups have served me well and I have little intention of changing them.

I have a few other devices that are not "permanent". They get dofferent coils and juices depending on whats going. They are like test stations of sorts.

Very seldom for a setup to reach "perfect pairing" status. But here are mine:

• Evod1/istick20 with 18mg VM Berry Blaze and extra menthol - morning MTL and portable stealth. No real coil setup here, its a stock coil but it took a while to figure out the juice that came alive in this humble device. Somehow this just tastes blissful to me.

• RM2/Reo Grand with 18mg Blackbird blend plus some menthol - morning MTL and on occasion when I need a big tobacco hit. Took me ages to get the right coil and positioning. Its my 29g 1.6mm ID kanthal paracoil. Crisp, instant, glorious. Monstrous throat hit.

• Lemo1/Sig100+ With VM Strawberry plus menthol - my desk "computer companion" - perfect pinpoint sharp flavour and pleasing menthol burn. Took me ages to get the wicking right. Rayon shines. This is my sharpest strawberry menthol flavour producer and so refreshing.

• Subtank Mini / istick50 with VM Strawberry and Paulies Guava - plus some menthol - a bit more rounded but this is mainly my out and about trusty all-purpose machine. Nothimg really rocket science about the coil or wick but it took me a while to get the right juice blend and strength. Istick50 is a winner in the hand and has been rugged out and about.

I think I have perfected the above setups, coil wise, wick wise and juice wise to give me the ideal vape for that application. Most of those have had no change and the same setup for a long time, up to 2/3 years!

Skyline, Kayfun5 and Billet Box still have lots of work ahead but im getting there slowly. Skyline i need to still play with the air disks and the right juice. Definitely going to be a fruity menthol though. Kayfun5 i am behind on. Needs more coil work and not sure about the juice direction. Billet Box its still early days but i need to figure out the coils - still a noob - and as for juice I think fruity menthol will be where its heading too.

What are your perfect pairings?
Or do you prefer to mix it up as you go?

The reason I am interested in this is just out of curiosity to see whether other vapers do this sort of thing.

Not saying this is how it should be though. In many ways some of my most trusted setups have in a sense been "wasted" by only serving one juice. But on the other hand, I am quite intrigued by this approach and it gives me a sense of comfort knowing that when I pick up one of these perfect pairings, which are always there and ready, I know what I am going to get. I need these setups as my "fallback" of sorts.

Playing with new devices and juices is great but sometimes I can go for a while not enjoying any of them. So i need the setups I know will please me.

Strangely, i havent tried putting other juices or coils into these perfectly paired setups for ages. Once I strayed with my Reo/RM2 Blackbird Reo on a few other coils and it drove me nuts. So I returned to "safety". Lol.

Love this vaping - it is such a journey indeed

Great thread! This will excite me to buy new gear though! Shame on you @Silver... the temptations are gonna be bad.

For me:
1. Billet box Exocet with loaded cranapple, my on the go vape. Side note, I hated this juice until it seen the billet and now it’s one of my favourite!
2. Minikin v2 with my trustee subtank mini filled with elements watermelon chill
3. Noisy v2 topped with my druga and dripping nothing but killer kustard or frosteez
4. VT inbox my wasp nano or hadaly and elements pink lemonade

That’s where perfection vaping is for me. The only sad part is that I’ve lost my minikin due to having to cut down a bit to make room for something new so my old faithful STM (aka the 3310 of tanks) will have to be benched for a while.

I have not been vaping for than long thou so the chances of a perfect setup yet in my arsenal might seem imposible but what i have found is that my REO and ol16 does play and sit well with fruity menthol vape juices. This tread i am gonna watch with very intrigued eyes and see what is going to come from this. Like myself and @TheV discussed today. Vaping is such a personal thing and due to such a big variety availible to us all the chances of a perfect setup for each person does exist but that all would have the same setup is not possible at all.

I'm a bit of a savage when it comes to vaping to be honest.
All my attys go on all my mods.
All my juices go in all my attys (and sometimes over all my mods )
I'll drip into my RTAs
I'll mix into my RDAs...
I'm really scattered when it comes to my vaping experiences.

The absolute most important thing for me is playing around, testing, discovering and ENJOYING whatever it is I'm doing

Wow this is really going to be an interesting thread to watch and i have set myself to do so.

I am willing to bet @Rob Fisher has a few setups locked and loaded with some xxx juice in them that has and will always remain the same.

Secondly i could be bold enough to say that some vendors might have the same type of setups in their shops that is also locked and loaded the same from their word go.

But as we know lets be like crocodiles. Lie here and wait for the animals to come to the watering hole and share their setups with is.

Well this is an easy one for me... XXX in everything...

But there are a few juices I have discovered that are worthy of a dedicated setup... when I get back from Paris I hope to have a few more juices to go in a few more setups... so will finish this thread in about two weeks once I have done some testing...

Reo + 'Nuppin No1 single coil Ni80 26g, 2mm coil 6wraps for XXX/Panama
Reo + 'Nuppin No2 dual coil Ni80 24g, 2.5mm coils, 7wraps for XXX/Panama
Aegis + Ammit 25 single clapton, 2.5mm coil mostly tobacco's

So far I've been lucky enough to find one perfect setup for my tastes.

My Reo grand has the Vaporesso Transformer running in dual coil with around a 0.3 ohm build. By placing the coils right up by the air flow slots it works perfectly with my adapted clone of Halo's Tribeca. Haven't had any other juice in my Reo for months now.

Best time to vape this setup is with my morning coffee. But it's also goes great with beer and rugby
