I have this little thing that I use on my Minikin to prevent the tank scratching the mod:

Now, I haven’t seen any vendors selling something like this, and I needed a couple more for my other mods. I found a thin, clear plastic cover I had lying around so I cut out two and made something similar to the above:

I don’t know how well it will work, but I figured it was worth trying and better than having nothing, since I really don’t want the paint on my mods to come off / get any scratches.

Does anyone else use something like this to protect their mod?

I looked for something similar at PNA but there were no eyelets in 22mm dia. :)
So like you I also cut out small gaskets, but used baking paper instead.
Not such a good choice of material because it got quite soggy after a week.
However that was for my IPV6X and it still looks as good as new.
I didnt bother with the Alien because of the paint peeling issues.

If I was to do it again, I'd probably use the thin acetate sheets I got at PNA for another project, and use one of those paper punches to make it look more professional.

Awesome, thanks @blujeenz! I’ll make a note to get some acetate sheets. :)

Tried a o ring around the 510 connector?
Should give enough clearance between tank and mod, provided it won't affect the actual connection between the two badly o_O

Tried an o-ring now, it affected the connection. Darn!
