WISMEC indicates TFV4 and other atomizers damages RX200 and voids warranty.

submitted 11 hours ago by m3t4lm4n222

WISMEC specifies certain atomizers "Especially the SMOK" will damage the RX200's 510 connector and void your warranty. They go into the specific depth of the 510, etc.

It's also important to note the Joyetech Cuboid has the same 510.

WTF! I have a TFv4 on my RX200 :(

Did this to mine, 510 kept getting stuck, but board failed and it was replaced

mmmm interesting I didn't even know some MOD's could carry a warranty - I thought it was voetstoots

All Joyetech/Wismec threads suck. On the Evic VTC Mini and Reuleaux, the 510 SS insert butts up against the inside of the housing so you lose about 1.2mm of thread because the insert doesn't actually go through the hole in the case. On the Evic VT and Cuboid, the 510 insert does go through the housing, but the thread doesn't go right to the top, again losing about 1mm of thread.

They are building in a mechanism for premature failure in my opinion. Got to sell more mods you know... It'll probably lead to your atty's thread stripping first in my oipinion though.

I don't think that you can blame the mod manufacturer.

There should be a standard regarding length of the 510 threading on the atty itself.

If all manufacturers conformed to a single length then there would not be an issue.

In my opinion the 510 on every single atty should be adjustable and come with a standard length as a minimum requirement.

You can absolutely blame the manufacturer - They're supposed to be engineers. Why would'nt you make the thread as long as possible??? Also, Joyetechs chief engineer invented the 510. They know exactly what they are doing - making it less strong than it could be so that it will fail prematurely...

I do agree that a standard should be set though.

I am not an engineer so cant really comment but if I were to take a stab at it I would think that the longer the 510 thread is the more internal resistance there will be, more internal resistance would imply less battery life which would imply upset and annoyed vapers

From what I've seen, the rx, as well as the Dna have serious design flaws.
