@Spydro keeps going on about how he pairs a specific build with a specific atty with a specific juice.

That made general sense to me but I still didn't quite understand it.

But then today happened. I bought another bottle of Mr Hardwicks "threesome".

The coils I had in at the time were parallel kanthal 24, 2mm ID, 8 wraps. Flavour was awesome.

But I decided to tinker.made a single coil, 3mm, 4 wraps. 0 flavour. Nada, niks and bugger all.

So I fell back to a previous favourite, 1.5mm, 10 wraps parallel coils. Flavour intensity went up to 11! As I type this I'm thinking it may be too intense.

Same wire, same effective resistance, 3 flavours from the same bottle of juice.

So thank you @Spydro for planting the seed in my mind. The idea has now germinated and grown a sturdy taproot. I look forward to nurturing this idea into a towering tree that will provide comforting shade to all the juices I vape from now till eternity.

Rock on :headbang:

I totally agree. Vaping and vape styles are actually so subjective that it's hard to reccommend a build or an atty for anyone.
Even exact juices in the same devices from different people are different.

Bottom line is there is no best setup or best mod or best atty or best juice but only what works for you.

I recently came off 80W plus vaping and wasn't enjoying a reo anymore.
Been lazy to rewick some high wattage atties and lo and behold the reo setups are working for me again but I've changed wire etc to get more agressie vapour.

Thanks for your insights @Spydro.

Great post @craigb and i agree with you 100%
Also agree with @Christos

Its interesting how one can tweak a setup almost endlessly in search of the ideal vape for a particular juice. Some need more power. Some need more air. Some just wont work nicely in some setups, you need to try something else.

I love @Spydro 's philosophy of matching the juice to the atty and the build. Once its done and you have a great well matched combination its a satisfying feeling.

I have two or three such combos into which Ive put lots of "trial and error time". My crisp Blackbird Tobacco blend vape in the RM2 and my Strawberry Ice blend in the Lemo1 have gone through many variations of coils and wicks. I am 99% happy with them. That 1% inevitably keeps me wondering if there is a way to improve it and when I get ideas I jot them down for when I am feeling like more tinkering. I have also put in a lot of effort on my Paulies Guava ice blend and am happy with the OL16 and where I am on that. A bit more experimentation to be done though which will happen in time.

Another interesting thing is when I get the high end Skyline tank I am going to love being able to compare it to reference setups I know well. Exciting and a bit nerve wracking in case it blows them all out the water. Anyhow, its all in the name of "Science".

Thanks for the inspiration @Spydro

This fine tuning is such a wonderful aspect of vaping

Yep went down that dark hole already:). Through my vaping journey and at the tank/regulated stage I used to adjust wattage for the different liquids. Once I got my REO and RM2 there was no going back to tanks and regulated mods. However I found my self adjusting coils or changing them completly for the different liquids that I vaped. At that time I rotated between 5 or so flavours and each day would be a different flavour. This beacame tiresome so I slowly added more attys to my collection. And with that came more mods. At one time I thought there was something wrong with me:rolleyes: as my e-liquid flavours multiplied and each liquid had a dedicated atty/build/mod my collection began to multiply a well. Along came a @Spydro and put it all into context:D. I`m not crazy I just did not realize it at that time:--).
