Hey all, hoping someone else has one of these and might be able to provide assistance.

My Serpent is just over a week old and everything was perfect. Last night I tried to build a SS coil to play with TCR settings but I couldn't get anything to work. I kept getting "no atomizer" errors.

So I redid the coil 3 times with different builds and gauges - same thing.

After I finally gave up I noticed that the base of the deck seems to have moved a bit. What I mean is the top part of the base above the airflow control ring and the bottom of the base where the firing pin is, has moved about 1mm. So my pin isn't making proper contact any more.

For the life of me I can't figure out how that 1mm gap has come into play as it wasn't there before and it doesn't appear that the base can be separated in any way. Or at least in such a way that I feel like it might be broken if I push things further.

Hoping maybe someone has this atty and have had this issue or maybe knows the workings around the base better than I do.

Here is a photo of the base where you can see the 1mm gap on the airflow ring.

Right so after getting really upset at looking at this gap and not being able to figure it out I resorted to an age old fix - moer it. So I did the caveman thing on a table and the gap closed!

Connection restored and no more resistance jumping. Tc is working great as well!

Not my best advice for trying to find a resolution but it worked for me.

Epic !

So I dropped my mutation x tank the morning and it dismantled itself. I pick up the pieces and find the chimney is separate but that was never a detachable part. Careful inspection and there are no threads on it but it does have a lip where it was press fitted. So I line it up and clamp it down till it pops into place.

Fill it up and all was well :)

It just drove me nuts because nothing happened to it to cause this seperation. Now at least I know I can be a little forceful and just hit it!

You have no idea how much I missed not having this bloody thing... I love it, but 24 hours of loathing it made me appreciate it even more :D

That sucks because this means it will happen again. With no screw system to hold ot down it is only a matter of time until it needs to be moered again. If you ever get sick of the serpent pickup a Cthulhu v2, the most robust tank on the market IMO, everything is over engineered and bolted down.

Now we know - forewarned is forearmed. Thanks for sharing your misery:)

At least the next person may find it sooner than I did. Was super depressed!

I will monitor and see what happens, hasn't moved yet and I pulled on it now to see if anything happens. Hopefully it stays put.

Perhaps manufacturers should supply a moering hammer to go with the delicate blue screwdrivers.

Isn't that tank supposed to have chimney adjustments? Where does that sit on that tank? Couldn't it be screwed into place? Very intriguing especially since we all handle our vapes with care.

That problem in the Serpent is unusual. I have a Serpent and a Cthulu and my opinion is that the Serpent is the easiest tank to work on and very well made. The only limitation is that it is basically a single coil deck. It rebuilds like a dream and the juice control is a winner.
The Cthulu is also very well made but has 2 issues. The juice control system is really stupid and got chucked out of mine very quickly. It works perfectly without it - no leaks. the second is the top fill bit. It has no knurling on to grip, and it gets very tight. It also has 2 flats on the thread which make putting it back fiddly. Rebuilding is a bit more fiddly but ok.
