BVC Coil Life Expectancy

Wow, now that is the way you do a review. Some quality data and I firmly agree. I have tried rebuilding those Nautilus Mini BVC Coils according to riptrippers way but without Japanese Cotton wicking material it is rather tricky.

I used Rayon with 30 gauge A1 Kanthal, wrapped around a 1.4mm bit. 7 Wraps brought me to 1.8ohm. The issue is that the BVC coil has some Japanese cotton wrapped in a grove just on the inside of the barrell, this is done so that the juice flow into the chamber through the juice holes is slow and doesn't come gushing in. This however results in the rayon leading to dry hits as it does not get enough juice.

If one pulls out that extra Japanese cotton then the flow is too great and it floods the BVC coil chamber. The only way that has worked this far in rebuilding those beautiful little puppies is to pull that other Japanese cotton out and then block 2 of the 4 juice holes with some small cotton balls. Literally just force them in there. The resulting juice flow from the remaining 2 juice holes is just sufficient to create adequate flow and prevent dry hits. But even with this method I need to get my hands on some real Japanese cotton to dot he job correctly.
