Clapton gauge advice

Good morning, afternoon or possibly evening guys

So I’m looking to try my hand at making my own Clapton’s for fun and amusement but looking for some advice

For the higher gauge wire, what size would you recommend for the best flavour or is it negligible because I’m stuck between 34 and 36... have an abundance of 26

26g wrapped in 36g is a good combo for clapton for flavor. I make that combo regularly for a friend. It's all he uses.

Try using a medium gauge wire as the core (26ga) and as fine as you can go for the clapton, 38ga works really well for me with fused calptons. Generally you're aiming for a metal mass that can disapate heat easily as you're going to want a fast ramp-up and cool down time. The thicker the clapton wire, the longer it takes, and usually the more watts you need to pump through it. Using a thinner wire also allows for greater surface area to be covered, which in turn creates more juice channels from the clapton...and more often than not, better flavour. 26ga/36ga is a good combo, but try fiddle with the different gauges to get a feel for the mechanics in place with these coil types...With so many exotic builds out there, in the end, it all starts with a clapton

Drill and an ego one coil, I took pictures so more than likely I’ll make a thread tonight

Tools I used

Lower gauge attached to drill after being threaded through the Clr ego one coil (small holes on each post)

Higher gauge being attached to the other rung after being fed through the bottom of ego
After manually wrapping the 36 spool, held it about fifteen cms away from the 26 and then turned the drill on
About half way done

Now I held the spool just below the coil and held my ego head and spun until the wire snapped, just to make sure it was wrapped its tightest

Forgot to take pictures of wrapping but 7 wraps @ 3mm id gave me 0,54 ohm resistance

My favorite combo is fused Clapton with 26g ss wrapped with 41g ss .From tutorials I've seen it's said that the best wrap wire should be at least 10 gauges thinner.

About three times better than Pre-Built clappies, my guess would be because those are Kanthal and different gauges but I could be slightly bias

But vapes as smooth as a waxed bowling ball, more cloud than a veld fire and taste as crisp as freshly pressed tuxedo pants
