Hi, just checking your add... isn’t single coils better for single battery mods, with a dual build you gonna drain your battery a lot more as u will need higher wattages to ramp up the coil... that’s just my understanding.

Hope this helps.

Maybe look at the wire you are using for ur builds

Thanks for the reply @Jengz.

As far as I know, the higher the resistance the more wattage is required? With my previous tank I didn't have to turn it too high because getting dual coils to come in 0.14 was a lot easier than getting a single coil to come in that low.

Higher the resistance ,less wattage is required . Buy Geekvape ss316 flat clapton spool and wrap a single coil . U will see the results . I achieved .17 with a single coil

Think its the other way round the higher the ohms of the build the less watts you need. On a mec 0.5 ohms will give you 29 watts on 3.8 volts. The formula power = volts squared divided by resistance. Gives us this. For 0.14ohms 103 watts will be what you get from a mec also pushing amp drainage in the red by draining 27amps. That is not safe on improper bats.

For a single coil build with lower ohms try a parallel build. I am runing a 26g parallel coil ss316L ohms out at 0.229 and vaping it at 23 watts just because thats my sweet spot on single coils I vape max 25 watts on any single coil never mind the ohms.

Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for.

As stated above the lower the ohms the higher the wattage needed, people often confuse current (amps) with wattage which is power... so the lower the resistance the more current it will draw from from ur battery(on mechs this isn’t regulated) when drawing more current the power output is higher therefore at lower resistance u need higher wattage on a regulated mod to push enough current into the coil, in turn this drains your battery faster.

My advice for a single battery mod, I’m using a regulated inbox squonk mod, build to around .5-.8 ohms but use wire that has a faster ramp up time, such as n80 wire, this will save u battery life by firing at a lower wattage drawing less current from the battery and will give u a warmer vape which I presume is what u are after?

Hope I didn’t get this wrong and hope it helps

Thanks for the replies guys.

Let me just give an example (I'm also not really into the technicalities of vaping, as I'm sure you can tell):

With my previous tank (Zephyrus V2) I started out at 0.25 ohm but gradually went down to 0.14 ohm as I realised that I can vape at a lower wattage while getting the same kick (and the battery seemed to last longer). I must add that I largely used basic wire (UD 26ga). With these coils the ramp up was quick and I could limit my pulling to an average of 2,5s.

Anyway, my tank broke and I was in a rush to get a new one at a good price. I ended up getting the OBS Engine Nano, which is a great tank, but I only realised that it was single coil after I bought it. Since I've been using it it has been nothing but a nightmare, as I've had to replace cotton much more than I had to previously, as the juice seems to be boiling with these coils (I'm a low maintenance vaper - I like to change my cotton once a week and my coils once a month). They are fused claptons, i think (bought them at a vape store). It's clear to see that the ramp up time is ridiculous. It will take as much as 5 seconds to glow on 34watts (0.42 ohm).

That being said, I'm not sure if the story means much to you guys but judging by your comments I must be doing something wrong. I just don't know what it is.

Hi @Mr Tshaba
I agree woth @MK_AHMED
maybe try using a coil similar to what you had in your dual coil tank, but just one coil instead of two.
Maybe you will find it has faster ramp time and a similar sort of vape at lower power
I dont know the Nano myself but many love that tank
Maybe Try 26g, say 2.5mm ID and 7 wraps or thereabouts.

That is a great and generous offer @KZOR

@Mr Tshaba , @KZOR is an expert vaper and I think he will be able to sort your vape out for you

I'll try this when I get home. The coils in my previous tank were like 4 or 5 wraps and 3mm. Not too sure

I have an aromamizer supreme if you interested
