I'm looking into getting the Hellvape Dead Rabbit MTL.

Has anyone here got the experience of using one?

I'm looking to replace my OXVA Xlim Pro vape devices because of the battery issue, it's quite a common thing and I think I am just wasting my money buying replacements. I still have my Lostvape Thelema mods so I want to add an MTL RTA, mainly for the flavour and also to save on juice as well. After nearly 10 years of vaping, I am moving away from big clouds and going for more flavour in this regard so this is the reason I'm switching to MTL now.

There are many people on the forum that swear by it, saying it rivals the kayfun for a fraction of the price. Reviewers like GG also agree with the sentiment. I don't have one myself, but I have only heard good things. If I ever wanted an Mtl RTA, it would 100% be my first buy. I wouldn't say that MTL is necessarily more flavour though. The type of juice and type of coils play just as big a role as the device you're using, probably even more. IMHO RDL gives the densest flavour but just like everything in the vaping world, it's also extremely subjective. All in all for the price point of the dead rabbit mtl you can't go wrong if you're wanting to compare its flavour to other mtl setups but I wouldnt compare mtl to RDL to DL, they're just too different. Mtl just simply vaporizes less juice per drag, so you'll need a potent liquid if you want a similar flavour to that of larger clouds. Here's a thread that may help

My wife has a Dead Rabbit MTL.
its pretty good flavor wise.

but if you are more after flavor and moving away from big clouds, then rather get something like the Blaze solo, get a decent coil set up, vape on a lower wattage with a more restricted airflow, a RDL set up will give more flavor than a MTL set up.

I have an AIO, a Duel coil, Blaze, a blaze solo single coil, a dead rabbit V3 and a dead rabbit MTL. I also have a Drop solo RDA.

100% best flavor is on the drop solo. and that is not even the best RDA for flavor, RDA just gives the best flavor.

but RDA is messy, having to drip the whole time, getting a squonk could help though.

From my experience MTL is good for higher nic. using salts. your flavour is always going to drop off on nic salts due to how flacour is carried in PG and nic salts wanting to go more PG than Free base.

no shame in wanting to go nic salt route, just dont say its for flavour.

one small note the OXVA Xlim Pro the pods it uses use a mesh coil.
mesh coils create more surface area, so lower wattage can produce better flavor.
it is a great device, and if flavor is the main goal, no MTL RDA or RTA is going to match that. even the mesh ones.

the TLDR:
Dead Rabit MTL = good.
MTL <> flavor
Consider RDL with a single coil device that forces air though the coil like the Blaze solo or the Blotto.
potentially mesh devices, or a multi mesh pod device

I have an RDA but the problem lies in using salt nicotine.

I've read that you can get away with using salt nicotine juices (which I just bought for my OXVA Xlim Pro 2) and in the back of my mind, with the ongoing battery issues, I knew I would have to go back to the mods I was using before. I had more flavour with a 0.4 coil than with a 0.6 / 0.8.

Yeah I get what you are saying about the coils. I have tried the 0.6 and 0.8 on the Xlim Pro 2 and they're just not for me. I've always had 0.4 so that's not an issue for me and I already vape at low wattage so again not an issue for me.

As I am not working so money will be a bit tight and I'm thinking just to hang on for a bit and try to "cheat" using a DL setup (making it act like an MTL with reduced intake airflow) just until I can get an MTL RTA. Running 0.4 ohms on 15W with the airflow reduced to the lowest setting and I think I should be ok until end of next month.
