Hey guys, been lurking the forum for a while now, must say awesome forum and community. I know this is the wrong place to introduce or make a first impression so will make a note to introduce in the newbie section.
Anyway.
Im looking for a innokin svd to go with my aerotank mega as the spinner v2 is abit top heavy at the moment lol.
If you guys have any other recommendations on a thicker battery to go with the mega that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Just something to remember when getting something like an SVD or Vamo is you need batteries and a charger. No charger on device.

Another nice little device is the iStick, which eCiggies currently has in stock:

http://www.ecigssa.co.za/threads/istick-back-in-stock-eciggies-co-za.6549/

It is a very nice device, decent power and small. Unlike the SVD/Vamo/etc it has a built-in battery and charger...read all about it here:

The Aerotank Mega might be somewhat top heavy on the iStick?

Thanks for all the feedback guys.
That istick seems like it's good bang for buck, but im stuck between getting the box mod type or the normal type battery/mod. Although longer life would be nice without having to charge battery's seperately. I also like the look of the vamo 5 or SVD.
What would you guys recommend from personal experience?

Some solid advice from our members above. I am just curious, why such a horrible handle - "putrid"? Or will you explain that when introducing yourself at the end of this thread?

Im busy switching from the nautilus mini to the mega as im unimpressed as to the performance of the n mini. I like the big look of the mega but would like the battery to be the same width as it. The box mod is nice but im not sure if im going to get gatvol of it quickly lol

I had both the SVD and Vamo 5 (stainless steel version). Preferred the Vamo for its menu system and buttons, but both are good devices.

Hahaha the name PutRid is my gaming aka, so i pretty much use it as an alias with all the forums and such im on. Just stuck with me over the years lol

I'm all about the SVD, I love mine, it's solid, looks great and has enough power for my day to day needs. Although the iStick really appeals to me and I would really like to get one, I wouldn't swap my SVD for it.

I have had the pleasure of owning the SVD as well as the Cana Box mod.

Both are spectacular devices with the Cana Box Mod being able to chuck out double the wattage.

With respect to form factor the SVD has the benefit of being telescopic which means you can use all three sizes of batteries (18350, 18490/500, 18650), with the downside that it can be pretty tall in 18650 mode.

The Cana Box Mod can hold any 22mm atty pretty decently with very little to no overhang. The box mods tend to have the benefit of acting as a charger as well, albeit a very slow charge but that option is there.

Personally I find tube mods to be more comfortable and with the SVD 2.0 having 20watts now that is a definite winner for me.

I think though that in order to make a informed decision I would start out by answering the following questions:

1) Is this device going to be an all day device?
2) How much juice do you usually consume in a day?
3) what resistance coil do you normally vape on?
4) how would you carry you device - in your pocket? in a bag?

1) If the device is going to be an all day device then you would most likely want to look at getting a device that holds 18650 batteries, telescopic mods can get pretty tall where as box mods can get pretty fat in 18650 mod.

2) If you consume quite a bit of juice (4ml + a day) then 18650 mod would be the better choice unless you are going to carry around loads of spare (smaller) batteries.

3) if you vape on high resistance coils (1.8ohms +) then I would assume that you prefer a cooler vape which in that case would suggest to me that high wattage is really not a big deal for you which means that you could go with an 18350 option (as the battery would last longer than someone who vapes on lower ohms/higher wattage) then telescopic would be a good choice unless you can source a hanna mini (box mod) somewhere

4) if you carry the device in your bag then size i am guessing wouldnt really be an issue then a telescopic mod would be perfect as it gives you flexibility in terms of battery size etc.

I hope that helps and if you need further clarity then please drop a post.

If you decide to go with regulated tube mods then I would put my money on either SVD2.0, Sigelli 20W or the Vamo

if you decide to go box mod then I would suggest either the Cloupor Cana Box Mod or the Hanna Mini Box Mod

Indeed (and it is something to consider), but I use my Kayfun on it and I actually like the fact that the mod is smaller (and lighter) than the atty :)

I haven't had any issues with it in terms of standing up or falling over - maybe because the device is so short it is more stable than a tall 22-23mm tube mod.

There is a size comparison of Mega vs Kayfun here:

This is my kayfun on the iStick (with eGo adapter, so it's a bit taller too)

That 'fuschia' is starting to grow on me.... now only if they'd do one in electric orange :D

Thx. Does not look too bad in the pics. Do you or would you use it like that as a preference?
The iStick actually makes most anything you put on it look cute, even a beast like the Mega ;)
I have used the mega on the istick in the past - but a recent discovery of a truly great golden oldie (which I can't mention by name outside of my forum) and my need for a really great TH makes it near impossible for me to use anything else. All my other tanks are in a holding pattern at the moment.

Also keep in mind that the istick is small. a Little bit bigger than a normal bic lighter.

And to answer the question - Vamo (but only because I had one :p )

Thanks for the post.
I dont mind about it being big or longer.
Yeah the more watts the better I guess, I like the look of the tube mods better (for now), I know in a couple of months or so I am going to want to go bigger and better and fork out more money on this, as im getting addicted very quickly. (And iv'e only stopped for 3 weeks now)

To Answer your questions:

1) Yes, I would like it to be an all day device, I currently have the Spinner v2, and the xfire (looks cool)
2) In the Nautilus Mini I vape about 3 tanks a day
3) Well on the Mega I just bought the 1.5Ohm coils, on the N Mini I use 1.6Ohm (Still not too clued up on the benefits of using different Ohms)
4) Well, I carry it in a wooden box to work and back home, when I go out it will be in my pocket (doesn't really matter about size TBH)

So I would probably go with the highest and best battery that will last the longest, which I assume is the 18650.
The Vamo is also telescopic right? Im thinking about either the SVD or the Vamo 5 with the 18650 battery.

The Vamo is not telescopic, but comes with extension tubes. Just be wary of the ohms. I have not used my Vamo in a while, but i don't think it fires lower than 1.5ohm. (Might have changed as mine was one of the older V5's)

With that in mind I would go with the Cana Box Mod simply cause it can go up to 30watts and it takes replaceable 18650 batteries and can be charged through the device itself.

Else I would wait for the SVD 2.0 if you want a tube mod (but it only goes up to 20watts).

@PutRid - Just to get back to you, lowest ohm's possible on the Vamo V5 is 1.2ohm (according to the manual)
