Things have become a little confusing with Kanger releasing so many new coil types. Now there are Claptons and Ceramics too. I've found myself debating with one person in particular who sells vape gear for a living. Turns out, we were both wrong...

The SSOCC coils that are widely available in vape stores, cylindrical in shape, the newest version of which has 3 wicking holes (2 big and 1 smaller), are NOT stainless steel coils. They are Nichrome (with the red orings). The "SS" refers to the stainless steel housing. That is why the cylindrical, TC Nickel coils (with blue o-rings) are also labelled "SSOCC". Kanger have however released an actual SS316L coil, also "SSOCC" but with bubblegum pink o-rings and the box actually says "SS316L". As far as I can see, these aren't yet locally available. So, definitely stop using the SSOCC coils in TC mode if that's what you're doing. Not sure if everyone already knows this, but I certainly was confused so decided to share.
