So for whatever reason the insulator around the postive pin has started moving inside, thus allowing the negative threads to touch the kbox positive pin and shorting. Worth fixing? Easy to fix? I stripped the base, pushed the insulator back out but it eventually slides back in.

I have more or less the same problem by the sound of it. Please excuse me I am a newbie so still not 100% sure off all the terms.
I have a KBOX mini 75w and the 510pin pushes downwards as soon as I connect the tank and causes a faulty connection. Stripped the mod and pushed the 510 pin back up again but obviously that did not work at all.
