Hey
After reading some topics I realized that I have a airlock in my Melo111.
Assuming there is a breather of some sorts blocked..
How and where do i unblock ?

No Bud... An airlock is when the pressure of the air inside the tank is lower than atmospheric pressure. This is caused by the juice being consumed while vaping and the pressure not equalizing, thus preventing the cotton from wicking efficiently. Loosen the topcap to equalize. Most refer to a vacuum being created, but it's far from that.....

Hope you get it sorted out @pieterholtz
Sometimes these tanks do lead to airlocks and some are more prone to it than others
If i recall @Rob Fisher had it many times on a few tanks - as @BubiSparks says, a sloght unscrewing of the top cap should sort it out
Let us know

I stripped down the entire thing, including all the o-rings and seals and soaked them in boiling water for an hour. Rinsed every thing with hot running water and re assembled............ still doing the same thing..

Did you try opening the top cap a bit?

Fill with juice , vape as normal. When u experience a dry hit / airlock unscrew the top cap like you would to fill and you should see bubbles come up. Voila airlock gone. Repeat when necessary

@shabbar
The idea is to be able to do this without having to remove or unscrew the top cap!!
Having juice drip and spill everywhere while driving is SO freeking annoying....

Like @shabbar said, when loosening the topcap, you should see a few bubbles escape from where the coil sits. This will confirm that it is an airlock issue. Another way of doing it is closing the airflow ring and sucking hard on the drip tip. Again you should see some bubbles escape. I often run some of my tanks with the cap loosened off a bit and they don't leak.

Also ensure that your juice isn't too thick. On a tank using commercial coils, anything over 60% VG can give problems with wicking.

Get a better tank or dripper if you can. Airlocks are a pain in the rear. One had a mage gta and tossed it because it suffered badly with airlock

Melo III air lock issues have been a plaque in SA from the start of them. While not proven I thought they were due to out of spec tanks, coil head damaged tanks, or operator error. Mainly thought that because I used 5 of them at the time, and never had a single air lock in any of the Melo's (or in any of the other brand tanks I also had that folks there were getting air locks in). The Vaporesso cCell's had issues from the start in SA in their tanks and the others they fit (like the Melo's). I had no issues with those coils over here in any tank. But they could certainly have been be a culprit back then in SA.

Yip airlocks are more prominent on the 4ml version (and I benched those real quick) while on the 2ml version I had a few of them and only one of them had the airlock problem which was only solved by leaving the top cap open a little... the three others I had worked flawlessly until they were retired.

Thanks for the feedback guys, not knowing what the history of this particular tank is, i can only assume it had this issue before I got it. Ill keep on struggling with it until month end. Im only now starting to figure out what my needs and wants are, and will draw up a wish list for the end of the month and replace my current setup.

What coils are you using in the tank?
My Melo 3 mini worked flawlessly with the e leaf cotton coils, it was only when I used the Ccell ceramics coils that I had issues.
