it works but fires on its own at times

Have you tried stripping and cleaning the PCB? if its out of warranty what do you have to loose.

Sounds like some juice on the pcb. If u still want the mod, do as @Po7713 advised. Try and clean it with some alchohol. Otherwise im sure someone will take it off your hands if the price is right
