Aesthetics

My wife was present when i opened the packaging and she immediately responded with "that's so cute" and it is a diddy RDA. 22mm diameter and only 32mm in height including the very nice red resin drip tip which looks large sitting on top of the little feller. Aluminium has a look of it's own and you can immediately see that's the material used for the sleeve. I received the Red, but it's also available in Blue, Green, Black, Gun metal and SS which means it's an SS colour and not the material it's made of. The top of the sleeve curves inwards, then back outwards before being stepped before the drip tip. The sleeve has the word "NUDGE" on the front and the SMM logo on the back, the machined bevelling of the airflow slots gives the slots a silver surround. The base of the Nudge is stainless silver and comes with a gold plated, protruding BF pin installed, also on the base we have "SUCK MY MOD" and "WOTOFO" printed plus safety stamps. As well as the 810 drip tip there is also a 510 adaptor included. We also get a second sleeve which is identical apart from having a smaller airflow.

Got To Hand It To Wotofo

I am always impressed with what you get included with Wotofo products. Yes the extra sleeve is needed and spare o-rings, grub screws, 510 adaptor and standard pin to go along with the BF pin is what you would expect, but here Wotofo also include, cotton, 3 fused claptons and a screwdriver which is fit for purpose.

Specs

Diameter: 22mm
Height: 32mm
Material: Aluminum
Connection: Regular 510 pin and BF pin
Type: Rebuilding dripping atomizer
Colors: SS, Black, Red, Gunmetal, Green, Blue

Assembling and Disassembling

A simple little RDA which doesn't have outer and inner sleeves so consists of just drip tip, sleeve and deck. The drip tip as mentioned is an 810 and can easily be pulled out to use your favourite or fit the supplied 510 adaptor and use a favourite 510. I did see somewhere a reviewer who said the o-rings were not that good so the sleeve was a bit loose, i was supplied with the retail version and i need to fit it to a device and give quite a tug so this has definitely been addressed.

Sleeves and Airflow

The Nudge 22 comes with 2 identical sleeves, identical that is apart from different size duel side airflow slots. This is done because there is very little adjustabilty with the airflow so having the two, covers all the bases. The sleeve that comes installed has air slots that are 5mm in length and 2mm in height, this when fitted can be adjusted up to a quarter closed. The other sleeve included has air slots that are 3mm in length and 1.5mm in height which can be adjusted down by about half. The airflow slots have nice machined bevelling which mainly helps reduce turbulence and not sure if done on purpose but the angle discourages leaking.

The Build Deck

Let's do a build, done! how quick was that. The Nudge 22 is the easiest and quickest deck to build on i have come across. It's basically the SMM RTA build deck that's been used with the Nudge 22. The airflow is angled so the air will hit the very bottom of the coil then go upwards. Despite being a single coil RDA it has 4 post slots so when you fit your coil 2 of them will be claiming social security. The post slots are not holes but cut outs so the coil legs can slide in from the sides, these cut outs are slanted downwards so gravity takes over and the legs don't even consider popping out while you do up the screws, and they can't fail to trap the legs securely. I used one of the supplied fused claptons that came out at 0.23 but looking at the cut outs and how the screws trap the wires you can fit fair sized coils if you wish, it's also worth mentioning the screws are very good. Personally i would only use the Nudge 22 for the purpose it was made for, a single coil build but if you use 2 small micro coils there is nothing stopping you doing a duel build. Each end of cotton has it's own juice well which has a reasonable depth and wicking is straightforward.

Performance

Many of you that have tried different RDA's will know from the pictures of the deck and the overall dimensions of the Nudge 22 that it's going to give great flavour and of course it does just that. There are many RDA's i haven't tried but one i can compare it with is the Wasp Nano which despite it spitting and noise i love mainly because of it's flavour. I am not going to go as far as to say it gives better flavour than the Wasp, it's too close to call after such a short time but it matches it. The Nudge 22 is a lot quieter than the Wasp, it's not silent by any means but the bevelled air slots do help keep the noise down. I did expect spitting to be an issue but apart from a few spits when the build was very fresh it wasn't a problem. I used the Nudge with the BF pin and despite the low airflow slots because they are angled downwards i suffered no leaking, but if squonking probably best not to get too zealous. I tried both sleeves fully open and adjusted and also used both the supplied 810 and my own 510 drip tips. Still not certain what i find the best combination but i'm liking the smaller airflow sleeve, fully open with 510 drip tip.

Conclusion

Out of all the RDA's i have tried the Nudge 22 is i would say the best first RDA for someone to get, you will not get an easier build deck to coil and wick. But the Nudge 22 will have many fans who like single coil RDA's, flavour can be subjective but if someone say's they don't get very good flavour from this i would be gobsmacked.

Pros

Nice looking
Easiest build deck i have used
Excellent flavour
Not too noisy
Very little spit back
BF and standard pin
Aluminium sleeve's (cools down very quickly)
2 sleeves different sized airflows
Nice Resin 810 drip tip

3 coils and cotton included

I would once again like to thank Linky from Wotofo for supplying the Nudge 22 RDA for the purpose of this review.

greetings @Timwis .Great review as always and it looks good on the mod too
Yes it's a great little RDA, the standard in general is so high now i find myself repeating myself, i'm hoping a rubbish one comes my way soon so i can say how pooh it is because it just seems i'm saying everything has great flavour.

I'm want to get me another luxotic and maybe a RDA if I can afford it all at once. I'm using an ol16clone on my current lux. but i m not getting a decent vape yet,but I love the mod and this RDA looks good and from your review I think its a winner

22mm with small air chamber has alway's produced great flavour which is why the Wasp is so popular. The Wasp is very cheap but it does give a lot of spit back, very noisy and quite often whistles and it's sleeve and mouthpiece is all in one. The Nudge 22 is better, there is also the Nudge 24 duel build but without trying it i can tell you it won't be as good for flavour as the 22.

Thanks for the review @Timwis.
Found my topcap to sit fairly loose over the build deck but a quick swap with a goon 22 o-ring fixed that issue.
Wonderful atty and definitely a permanent part of my rotation.
Must be hit and miss i actually with the bigger airflow sleeve need to get my nails into the airflow slots for purchase and give it a big tug, if anything i would say it's too tight.

Has anyone else experienced a loose top cap? I'm wondering if it's perhaps a batch issue.

Anyone experience problems with the squonk pin? I notice it protrudes a lot more than other atties I have, and I have a problem currently in that it gives a ‘check atomiser’ error on my RSQ mod.

Is it perhaps touching the bottom of the coil, causing a short?

Strange...
I second the shorting thing.all mods aren't built the same neither are the atties.i had that with a few atties and had to dissasemble completely to clean it out on the inside.maybe the metal isnt touching but the juice is transferring current causing it to read an error
