To be honest im not sure. Went to a wedding and when I got home i noticed the chip. So how it happened I'm not sure. It was never dropped or mis handled.

I bought this one and the chip isn't really bad at all. I've got a RX200 that took a chuck of tar road to the face more than once and it's still functioning 100%. My RX2/3 paint got removed by a tank but it's still working. All in all the new RX seems more resilient to paint damage unless it's a sharp edge that nice it. Even then the damage will be minimal compared to the previous versions as far as my current experience goes. Thanks for the mod Daniel.
