Hey everyone, need some help from the forum. I have contacted so many pharmacy’s and dischems and med centers in Durban and no one seems to have Prodol in stock, everyone says the supplier is out of stock which boggles the mind. I will contact the supplier tomorrow cause they dont work weekends.

The bottle normally retails for R30 or so but if anyone can help me find i will be so grateful, I will pay for your time/petrol and etc . My little man doesn’t like all the other stuff so we kinda stuck.

Mods/Admin if any part of this ad or the ad itself is incorrect please remove

@daniel craig , My sister inlaw and myself tried just about every vendor opened today, they all say the supplier is out of stock, i did manage to get a bottle from day and night parmacy here in Umhlanga and it was the last bottle, I’m grateful i got it but the hunt continues, i would rather stock up then been in this situation again.

It's available on the clicks website. They can deliver it to the outlet in 3 days or they can do home delivery as well.
Or may I suggest "teegel" worked for my son

Do yourself a favour and go past the Sunningdale Pharmacy and ask for Greg's Teething Mixture. It's a muti which the pharmacist mixes himself and it works wonders. It also costs about half of the other commercial crap which is often just glorified Stopain.

You won't regret it.

If you do a Google search you will see glowing reviews and even people from UK and Australia importing it.

Sorry Boet, tried today but no go here either, hope you get sorted. Seems everyone is out of stock.

Thank you I really do appreciate the effort @Room Fogger, i did get another bottle from a friend he arranged courier and everything, only thing i hated was the guy didn’t wana take any money which pissed me of a bit but his a guy like that. Ill find a way to get that money into his pocket one way or another since he’ll be down in Durban soon

Im also going to a pharmacy to get a inhouse made thing that @Jos recommended.

In a situation like this I would also not take anything, he is a real friend! Kudos to him.

If it really burns you donate it to a worthwhile charity of his choice in his name, I have been there and that was a win win situation. It's of no use to lose a friend because of something like this. Good luck with the teething.

I sometimes wish I could have mines teeth removed so that they would eat less, that's why their nicknames are locust 1 and 2.

Teejel works pretty well, and there are a few "little known" brands in babystores, but not as good as prodol.

Nurofen or mybulen paediatric syrup if your baby is old enough, will also help with the pain.

Ice, or ice lollies can also, but watch out for sugar content which could make it worse.

There are also teething rings that can be frozen that might help.

I'll look to see if we have any prodol left over, but I think the chances are slim. And courier services might take a day or so and be relatively expensive.

Hi something that also work if you stranded is panado syrup.you rub on the gums and then there's dynexin I think this one numbs the gums.try it if you don't have any options left.
Our Kids shouldn't suffer

Resistance is futile

I bought a bottle from a pharmacy on crescent street in overport on Friday afternoon, was roughly R33.00.

The pharmacy is near crescent towers.

I use the Ashton & Parsons Infant powders for my kids gums...works wonders. he moans cos of the pain, take the powder and rub it on his gums and then he is good to go,,, sadly prodol doesnt last as long as its supposed to..,Teegel also works wonders but its totally up to you

And if all else fails, and in an emergency, not every time, and I am going to be crucified by a lot, and if religion does not forbid, a drop of brandy rubbed on will also deaden the gums. Unfortunately easier to find than the real baby stuff. Not a tot though, a drop or two.
