Hey folks

Got my Rolo at the last vape meet and until now I didn't have to update firmware or anything. I use it in power mode only and I've been happy until now.
Everytime now when I don't vape for a while, say 30mins or longer, the mod fires as if there's a short on the atty, and there isn't.
I then have to unscrew the atty, press the fire button so it says "Check atomizer" and then screw it back on. Then it asks if it's a new atty and I press "Yes" and then it fires normally again. Every time.
So I updated the firmware, but it still does the same.
During all of this, it displays the resistance correctly, i.e. 0.23 ohms. When it fires the atty as if it has a short, it displays the ohms correctly, but it destroyed my wick the first two times, after that I've been careful that it doesn't burn my wick.
Believe me the dry hits I got the first two times nearly killed me, and there was enough juice in the wick. Yet it fired like it was doing 300watts and I got a dry hit.
This is very worrying.
Any advice? Has this happened to anyone else?
Thanks.

Oh, and this happens with any atty, not just my new one.

I have had this once on mine. Mine was in Temp Control Mode and I had a Kanthal build. Check if you fire, it should not show a Temperature while firing.

Also, it shouldn't ask if its a new atty in wattage mode.

It doesn't show a temp while firing. It's in power mode as I said.

Then it means this mod is now crap and I have to bin it.

I know of about 4guys who had issues with this mod

Make for damn sure its not in temp mode, it shouldn't ask if it's a new atty in power mode.
I had the same, googled how to use the DNA200 chip to power. Switched modes, realized it was in TC even though it doesn't look the part.

I'll double check again, but I'm quite sure it's in power mode.

Sorry man, don't mean to come across as thinking you don't know what your doing. We all know that's not the case.
The asking about the atty is just waaay too curios. Mine only does that in TC mode. I swap tanks at least a couple of times a day with vastly different build and never see this message anymore.

Maybe it's a glitch. I checked the settings on escribe and uploaded to the mod again and rebooted. Now I'll just wait and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.
Don't worry mate, you be right in thinking I don't know what I'm doing. I haven't used it in temp mode because I don't really know how.....lol. I just like normal wattage mode, so I never really played with the temp mode. Maybe it's a good time to start, right? :p
Gonna leave the mod for a while now and see if it does the same.
Thanks for the advice. :)

Someone did report on the rx200 that the screw on the atomizer should be cleaned with a removal, and then re-attached - @shaunnadan or what was it? Hmmm,, Or extending the screw to ensure the connection bypasses that lip?

@zadiac that is rather concerning and sad.
The only issue I have is that after a fresh build sometimes the TC doesn't seem to function. I.e. it tells me the temp off the coil is too hot and it fires at 0.1W.
I've even waited 30 mins for the coil to cool before firing again and same thing.
I find putting it on power mode with no TC for 5 mins and vaping sorts it out.

Ok, so here is my feedback.
I think there was a glitch somewhere.
I uploaded the same settings to the mod that I did previously and now suddenly it's working properly.
I didn't change anything. I just loaded my saved settings on escribe, uploaded to device and rebooted. That's it.
Now it doesn't do it anymore.
It's weird, but thanks for all the feedback and attempts at help. It's appreciated. :)
