RX200 Latest Colour Release

OK - so in numerous posts until after 19:00 tonight you maintained that it was brand new and not used once. The impression was also created (I admit that I checked now and it wasn't explicitly said after the OP, but it sure sounded like it) that the mod was still sealed in its box. Then, after some questioning, about 7 hours after 13:00 (the time of the cloud comp), you state that it was used in the cloud comp and that you have therefore dropped the price to only R150 more than brand new?

Lol, for R1000 it's a great price, shops be selling the rx for R1300 and it's the older versions.

Currently in stock (yes, 'older' colours - there has been no meaningful hardware upgrades, though) for R 800 - R 1000:

Currently not in stock, but I would think that the chances are very good that some or all of them will be receiving new batches including the new color schemes very soon at similar (perhaps slightly more expensive) prices, for R 850 - R1050 for the mod only or R 1280 - R1380 for the mod including three Samsung 25R / 30Q or LG HG2 batteries - at the Puff Station, Vape Club and Sir Vape.

Of course, when one buys gear at retail prices from registered vendors here, one can rest assure that you will in all probability have good and hassle free after sale service if something does happen to go wrong. With classifieds this is usually not the case (I have bought and sold excellent condition gear on the classifieds here before and I will do so again. However, that is ONE OF the reasons why even an "as new" or "sealed in box" item on classifieds should be priced significantly less than retail)

Edit - This was a response to a question which I see @ShaneCacks have since deleted asking if, since 'they' don't have stock, why it would be a problem if someone bought his mod.

@ShaneCacks - Well - 2 of them have stock unopened and with after sale service for R200 less or equal to your price. My point, however, was not that nobody should buy yours; but was a direct reply to @Juno 's statement that "shops be selling the rx for R1300". Whilst this might be true of the store that he mentioned and one other retailer that I am aware of, it is not true of "shops be selling" in general and potential buyers should be aware of this.

Of course, you do have the red and black version available, which for someone in Cape Town means that if they really can't wait they will be able to get that version a few days earlier (I think that it's a relatively safe assumption that some of the retailers will most likely be getting them in during the week. For a buyer outside of Cape Town, couriers will only be open again on Tuesday for delivery on Wednesday).

As I've said, the above does not imply that your sale is questionable in itself - only that potential buyers should make an informed choice. Where your sale would become questionable in my opinion would be on
a) The sudden, but delayed, change of information regarding the 'newness' status of the mod - only after more information came to light. See my questions in the post above, which you have not responded to
b) The fact that any confirmed buyer would be buying a mod for equivalent to / more than / negligibly less than a new mod from a retailer and then not receive the after sales service associated with buying at retail.
c) This, for me, is the most important point in principle. If you are buying and selling gear at a profit you are competing directly with the retailers who pay vendor fees to advertise on this forum. Besides that, they also have overheads such as website maintenance, rent in the case of b&m's, financial risks associated with stocking, the obligation to exchange faulty products - even in cases where they cannot exchange it with their suppliers / the manufacturers (this definitely happens, especially with international shipping costs for exchanges being prohibitively expensive) etc. Of course, if you can operate a vaping business via forums with the minimum overheads - good for you - but then vendor subscription on the forum should at least be made mandatory. If anyone can buy gear at bargain prices and then sell them at inflated prices on here, a dangerous precedent would be set. Even though you responded to @Silver 's question that you are selling this mod because you "got slack" (you didn't say from whom, but of course you can't be required to share that if personal) for buying it after selling your other RX, I don't personally find that very convincing and buying a mod in the morning and posting it up for sale before 10:00 (especially with then only making some important info known 10 hours later after extensive questioning) just appears very much that it might rather be a buy and sell for profit from the onset.

How is anyone going to monitor if a private seller is making a profit on the gear they sell?
Serious question? are you going to audit every single private sale? are you going to oblige every seller to post the price they bought the item at? vendors included?

If the guy got an updated mod at less than the usual selling price, used it once, assuming it's still in a new condition and wants to sell it for its relative market value I don't don't see why he can't make a little profit. Willing buyer, willing seller.

If the seller is a vendor (not necessarily on this forum) and posing as a member to sell stuff in the classifieds, that is wrong. But that's for the mods to investigate and make a call on.

Some guys are jumping to conclusions and it doesn't really help. Let the mods do their jobs and keep it civilized.

Hi guys

What has been said has been said.

From now on, please keep the posts on this thread related to the topic at hand

hi @Silver
can you please explain to me why its allowed for other members to derail this thread to this extent. the seller can choose to sell for whatever value he sees fit. if the price is too high then then the buyer can simply opt not to buy it. but to allow members to link threads with various pricing and derail this thread to this extent is not fair.
there should be clause added to the classifieds rules that states if a member has issues with a ad in the classifieds that they should contact the A&M team who can then privately deal with the seller to clear up questions. Apologies @ShaneCacks for posting this here.
