That is a creation of immense beauty. Awesome coils. I now have coil envy big time.Ok so im sure you guys know about the stove too coil. I decided to build a dual stovetop but with a "TWIST"
Im sure the coil masters will appreciate it.

congats on your 1st coils, dual coils i might add.Ok guys, you all know I want to build a coil. Ok I tried.
Wached a couple of YouTube vid's,
managed to get It nice and neat, and tight
Measured the oms on my MVP. 0.7 (don't know if this is right or not)
Pressed the fire button, in short pulses
Coils light up nicely form the inside.
and pop
What am I doing wrong
I used 26g Kenthal around the smallest alen key I could find

what exaclty goes pop? does one of the legs burn off?
Jip, I build 2 and both had a leg go pop and then I build another 2 and the one's leg went and the other one poped in the middle of the coil.

Do you have 28g wire?
Maybe give that a try
Me thinks you need a few more wraps on those coils @annemarievdh

Think you need to squeeze the coils a bit. Directly after pulsing a bit, squeeze together with sharp nosed pliers and hold for a 20 count, be gentle. Once you have done both, pulse again. Then take allen key and push it into the coil and move it like you are playing snooker. Remove allen key. Try firing then. If that does not help, there is something wrong with the wire or the screws are not tight enough. Maybe try one or two more wraps on the coils.
that could be your problem right there actually, you dont know the grade of the kanthal you got with a CLONE dripper (i asume its a clone like most of us use) - i never use the kanthal i get with....Thank you I will do that. I just need more kental . Only got a little bit with the atty

The dril would not work in this case as the strands were not twisted, they were braided like a french ponytail.Nice Peter........next time use a cordless drill with a paper clip/allen key and a pliers and turn it till it breaks off at one end. Will give you nice tight coils...
