I tried, I failed. Very little space in that cup. Could possibly work if you do 1mm ID coils
I've done those twisted wrapped coils in there with 32G - That works like a charm.
But, my best coil to date is to place a 1 and 1.2 mm drill bits next to each other, then wrap 28G Kanthal - 8 wraps around both - kinda gives an egg shaped coil. Good coil, no leaking/gurgling and easy to rewick.
This is the work not of a Coil Master...... it is the work of a Coil Surgeon!
That is truly a thing of beauty! But isn't that a 'Double Barrel' coil? Parallel is 2 wires wrapped side by side around the same bit/needle/wick if I'm not mistaken
Can't wait to see it, and if it's do-able, maybe even try it myself!
As promised, one parallel coil in an evod/mpt2/mpt3 base
Final resistance came out at 1.44ohms using 32g kanthal at 9 wraps and an ID of 1.44mm (Admin please excuse the hi-res pics as the detail needed to be shown)

This is only my second working coil though, and my Lumia 520 really doesn't like taking pictures of very small things, so it may not look pretty

Everything squished and screwed in
It's ALIVE!!
I know you really shouldn't, but I had to, y'know, for science
It's not shorting, glowing pretty, so what to do? Put the rest of the tank on, add some VM Smurfette . . .
And have a vape
Life's good! Next up will be the parallel coil!

I think I just built my first coil? Took one of the gurgling coils apart. Straighten the one coil and looped it around a pop washer. Put it back in and trimmed. Popped some cotton in(uncleaned) and checked resistance on Mvp, 2.9 ohm. Damn this thing is already way better than the standard coil. Now I just need too find wire in PE.

Edit: My sister just got us some organic cotton at Dischem, and Hester from eciggies.co.za will order me some nichrome wire. Only problem is it will only be on two weeks

So guys Im not sure if this is the correct place to ask. Im ordering some stuff from Oupa and would like to try my hand at some coil rebuilds on a nautilus mpt3 and also a aero tank
Oupa only stocks nichrome wire on his website and no kanthal. My question is, will nichrome do for above mentioned coils and what thickness should i start with 0.12 mm or 0.16 mm?

I have never done a coil for a commercial tank, but I think the peeps usually go for 28 g for single coils and 32 g for dual coils, and in between gauges. NiChrome will work, but that is very thin (0.12 is around 37 g and 0.16 is around 34 g). So, if you go for that, the 0.16 would be the best, although still very thin.
Thanks Andre. Thats the only options Oupa has on his website. Maybe i should give him a shout and hear if he doesnt have some 28g in stock
So I finally got around to building some coils yesterday, and man am I enjoying this
1st Build for my mpt2 - 28g kanthal, 8 wraps on a 1.8mm screwdriver 1.6ohms on my VTR - sorry it was actually a 1.2mm screwdriver
cotton wick and it's flavour and vapor production amazed me

2nd Build was for my mpt3 - decided to go with a single coil build but will do a dual coil soon

checked the ohms later on the VTR and showing up as 1.6ohms - need to get myself an ohm meter

all I can say is WOW - vapor production and flavor is totally awesome and much better than the 1.5ohm original

Way to go. Coil building is very satisfying....and becomes an addiction.
something seems wrong with the stats for that first coil. 10 wraps of 28 gauge on a 2mm drillbit should give you around 1.8 ohms. 6 wraps on a 1.8mm screwdriver should be much less or i've missed something here

just checked it again now, and coming up as 1.5ohm on the VTR
and my mistake, it is actually 8 wraps and not 6
