Heya guys, got my hands on one of these RDA's from VapeKing today... Absolutely love it apart from one massive flaw that exists in the way the positive post is screwed down on the RDA base
So let me get to that first. The positive post on the device has a design flaw that causes it to snap off it's post when you work with a bit of the bigger gauge wires ( I used 20 Gauge) The issue is that it has a press fit tube mechanism that sits flush with the bottom section of positive post. So when you:
1, fasten the screw from the bottom to tight it pulls the little post out of the actual positive post
2, when you work with thicker gauge wires and try to alight it it also just snaps off the post
From the image you can see the culprit that is causing me so much rage... why build a nice RDA like this and leave a ridiculous flaw like this on it... I think lemaga has a contract with the original manufacturers to build shit like this and cause you to rage and go and get the actual Authentic RDA ( this is what I will be doing!!)
A simple fix for this would be if they produced the pin highlighted in the picture above with a lip that would fit over the top, so it cannot snap off so easily, almost like a screw having the lip on the actual screw head.
Now on the the good stuff
The rest of the device is manufactured perfectly, all the threading is perfect, almost to perfect to a point where the edges are a bit sharp, so watch yourself when cleaning this out. The RDA was very clean, still dumped it into some boiling water to make sure but it was really really clean, no machine oil or anything...
It had a couple of semi loose bits of metal on it from on the hole cut outs that where easily removed with a screwdriver. and once you have these removed, it's ready to go... The tolerances on the rubbers are perfect, it provides a sold adjustment not to loose not to tight, every thing sits perfectly. even the wide bore top cap and the drip tip adapter screws in perfectly, I would say this is better than the authentic based on Rip's review.
On to the vape....
It vapes like a dream... Absolutely love the way you can adjust the airflow... it's perfect, you can screw it open and closed to lessen the airflow trough the direct airflow section ( the two big air holes that line up directly in front of the coils) and the indirect airflow works in the same way, just turn it to where you prefer you can have these closed of completely or open as you prefer. you can also close of the direct airflow completely and only leave open the indirect air-holes... all to your preference.
I have mine set to where the direct airflow is open just below half way, and the smaller ones I would say a third of the way open. and the taste of this thing is awesome.. absolutely love it.
Got a 20 gauge 5 wrap coil on here coming in @ 0.1 Ohm. It produces a warm dense vapor that is full on flavor and great on clouds... just a bit trusty on the juice
A last point here... If you do not use the thicker gauge wires like 18, 20 or 22, and you are more from the 24 and up gauge wire kind of guy, you most probably would not experience the issue I did with the positive post.. So I hope you have a great experience with the RDA.. the airflow options are perfect, and produces a great vape!!
Below are some pics for your viewing pleasure
Steaming after a fresh vape of it, hehe
All split up everything you receive in the package... A couple of extra grub nuts, orings some coils and the allen key you need to fasten those allen caps (grub nuts)
everything from another angle
my 20 gauge build that is on it had to still do it at an angle in fear of breaking the bloody post again, managed to fix it (well it works, and is fragile, lol, will probably no have any issues with a 24 gauge build on it, after the fix it's much better than it was before.. it was really shit!! hope some of this feedback get's back to legmaga)
This shot gives you an idea of how good the threads are and also the cut out sections that make for all your airflow options (again, just watch yourself when cleaning here, the outer threads on this sucker is sharp at the top!!) and as I mentioned before, the o-rings are great, the tolerances are perfect and allows you to adjust the airflow to where you prefer it and it stays there until you decide otherwise
The top cap that screws over the inner section, this screws up and down to allow for your airflow options.
This one with the RDA sporting the drip tip adapter and a drip tip I got from vapecon, to be honest, the flavor is even better like this!! Love it!
And lastly a video
The air-holes on the video have been turned down even more (still playing around with the airflow allot as I only got it 2 hours ago, hehe) this makes for a very nice vape, medium hot dense flavorful vape
