VV Superfine MTL Fused Clapton Wire new gauge

Just a heads-up to anybody using the Vandy Vape MTL wire.

They changed the gauge for the core wires from 30ga to 32ga. This wire is now impossible to work with. It is way too thin. Had to build 3 coils just to get it to stay in shape. One broke off in the posts. Eventually got one to stick and when I dry burned for hotspots the complete coil distorted out of shape. Like it wasn't even wrapped.

Unless I'm still a noob or I got a horrible fake, this wire cannot be used for vaping.

The spool on the left is the previous one. The one on the right is the new version.

Yeah I saw that as well. Why I hope I have a clone. I really like this wire and will be sad if this is what they have done.

I just checked their website and I see both versions is on there. So maybe my vapeshop thought to get the thinner version.

I got the SS as well. Its ok. Might be better if you actually use temp control. But for me the ohms jumped too much. If I cannot get the 30ga Ni80 I will just have to get use to the SS.

I am nearly done with my first spool of the original 30g core version. And I like it. It's not the strongest wire it can deform a bit when rewicking but I just have to be a bit more careful. Otherwise good flavour and longevity.

Or you can wrap your ownit is 32ga*2+38ga ni80.seems a bit more user friendly than the vandy vape superfine

I think the new gauge is to accommodate a smaller coil with a higher resistance than the 30g one for all the Nic Salts Guys, and things like the little FX Squonk. Ordered 10 premade coils to try. Hopefully a way can be figured out on how to dry burn without it deforming.

The guy that sold them to me told me he uses them in his dual coil RDA's on mech devices. Guess I'm going to visit him for a demonstration.

If it can be done, then these coils can be spaced in an exocet. They are that thin.

I bought 22GA kanthal on Tuesday and I luv it maybe gonna try and build together with Ni80 and see how it works
