I'm back with another review on a not so new piece of hardware. This time we had a look at the Profile RDA by Wotofo and #Mr. JustRight1. Note in advance; I wrote this for a review on YouTube so if you'd like to see that, link is on my profile.
Features:
Flavor can be broken down layer upon layer
Break-through mesh style heating element
Easy to switch between mesh and wire coils
Spring-loaded ceramic support ensuring contact between mesh and cotton
24mm sleeve with accurate air flow
Experience from cool vape to warm vape
Up to 30 puffs at 75W before needing to resaturate the wick when using pancake wicking method
Now without further Adieu, the review:
Today I will be reviewing another piece of hardware that isn’t quite new. This rda was revolutionary and changed the way we vape today. That’s right, I’m talking about the Wotofo Profile RDA done in conjunction with #Mr. Just Right 1.
Now I must tell you guys up front. When mesh rda’s first came out, I was against the idea. Just the thought of getting a dry hit with so much cotton in there was enough to put me off. But then last year I decided to get myself the Profile unity and I wash amazed to see the flavour and cloud production that came with the unity. So now a few weeks ago I managed to pick up the profile rda second hand and I’m super impressed with it.
What do we get with the box if you buy it brand new? Well we get the profile rda, a user manual, 1 piece of agleted cotton which is like a shoe-lace, 1 extra 810 driptip, 1 bending tool, 1 bag with a Clapton coil in (that’s right, you can still use regular coils in here if you want to), 1 bag of mesh strips in, and then 1 bag of extra O-rings and screws. Let’s get a close up on this bad boy so that I can show you how to wick this guy.
Ok so here we have the profile rda. If I take the cap off, you can see we have the build deck with a clamp on each side and the spring-loaded ceramic support which pushes the cotton up against the mesh strip. This rda also supports squonking but if you don’t want to squonk you can just remove this pin and screw in the solid pin to use this as a straight up dripper. And you adjust your airflow by twisting the top part of the cap. This rda practically lives on my Vandy Vape pulse dual though so I’m going to leave this pin right where it is. I've got the Rainbow colour but I believe there are 5 other colours, stainless steel, black, blue, gunmetal, and gold. Now to set up this rda so we can vape it, we unscrew these clamps a bit, use your bending tool to bend your mesh strip and then just stick each side of the mesh strip into each clamp like this (or if you are using just standard coils, you stick each leg into each clamp) and then you just screw the clamps in like that. So easy. Notice we don’t have to pre-fire the coil because mesh will never have hotspots unless the strip is either broken or your cotton isn’t making full contact with the mesh strip. Now the cotton when using mesh you need a lot. With cotton bacon you want to take a whole piece and pull off just a little bit otherwise you aren’t going to get the cotton in. I’d say roughly between two thirds and 3 quarters of a strip of cotton bacon should be enough for this rda. Then we twist the one end so its easier to get the cotton through, put it in and just gently push it through. I find that if you are struggling a bit here, use your tweezers to just push the ceramic support down and you should find it easier to push the cotton through and then just gently pull it until you’ve got enough through. Then the next step is to cut the cotton to length. Because this is a dripper, it doesn’t really matter if you cut it too long or too short just don’t go overboard with too much or too little, otherwise you will get a lot of dry hits. So we are going to pull the one end of the cotton down and I like to cut it right at the base where the atomizer and the mod meets and then we repeat it on the other side. And there we go. Now to put the cotton into the base and put some juice on this guy. There we go. You’ve just wicked your profile rda. Lets go back up to the normal camera and we can see how this rda performs.
Okay so we’ve wicked the profile and I've put juice on this bad boy. I've got this set to 50W because mesh fires up a lot quicker than regular coils. Lets vape. Damn, okay the flavour that this rda pushes out is on a whole new level. You just get full flavour and you can taste everything. Nothing is muted. And the cloud production is also pretty intense.
My pros and cons on the Wotofo Profile RDA:
Pros: very easy to build and wick, produces a ton of flavour, the beehive airflow allows you to adjust the airflow to whatever your preference is, the squonk pin is definitely a great addition.
Cons: juice well is quite small and because its mesh, you don’t want to fill your juice well unless you want to end up drinking hot juice, so it definitely works better as a squonk rda.
That’s it ladies and gents. The Wotofo Profile RDA. Let me know what your thoughts are on this dripper down in the comment section below.
