Clapton coil went the bin.

Didn't like it.

This is more up my alley.

Triple twisted 26g
Dual coil
2mm ID
Coming in just over 0.2 ohms.

Great coiling, awesome picture - looks like you took it in Antartica!

image.jpg Holy crap the coils on here look good!!!! This is my first go at a twisted 28 gauge kanthal.

Experimentation time..

I wanted to build a coil with the great airflow of my dark horse but lesser clouds so that I can vape with the same throat and chest hit in public without making them all dissappear in my awesome clouds.

Here is what I came up with.

24 Guage 9 wraps 2mm ID

Let the pics speak for themselves..

Now it's a win as it produces less Vapour. But the flavour is more burnt and not as rich as it usually is. Was worth the time but I'll be going back to my standard wrap

image.jpg I think today we are all on a Einstein mission! Dual twisted Kanthal 26 gauge 6 wraps each. Booooya!Lolimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Hehe have definately tried over but Ive seen when its over the slits it tends to leak alot.

Nice dual vertical coils
Pity they don't vape as good as they look :(
Seems to be the way of coils (and other things)...the prettier, the more disappointing ;)

I have. But i will definately try the move thanks Bro. @n0ugh7_zw
I have to say your coils are like watching someone throw a nice cold draught on a hot summers day. Perfection!

meh, a frustrating build session. Has lead me to a conclusion. Now is not the time, for me to be messing with my Mephisto. The massive post holes are really redundant, because making coils with wire thick enough to take advantage of them, can't really be done because the deck is really quite small. the same wire worked 10 times better in the little boy, which is also a pain in the neck, because it needs centre post builds and theres not enough space for the usual centre post tricks to be employed.

The coil is less than 1mm from the lip of the well. placing the coil higher gets it out of the direct path of the airflow, which would make the atty get too hot, its a 0.25 ohm build.

IMG_5064.JPG
This is a 0.30 ohm build

The coil itself is awesome, lots of flavour and some really decent ramping time, considering how heavy the coil is. Thats twisted 24G with 30G wrapped around it.

Wow - I came to this thread to post pics of my very first working coil on my Igo-L, but now I'm feeling slightly intimidated and inferior!

Looks fantastic as always dude

These pics remind me of spiked gauntlets ;)

Ok, here goes - took many hours and plenty of googling...

26 gauge Kanthal A1
6 / 7 wraps
3mm ID
Single coil
Came out to 1ohm

I was getting the most horrible burnt taste initially and got real close to giving up, and then discovered that I need to dry burn the coil for some time before its vapeable.

Vaping Hurrican Vapor Twilight Cavendish at 18 watts, plenty of flavour!

Sorry for the poor quality, my phone's camera is useless.

I have tried a couple of the fancy coils, I found one that Rip Trippers did that was 4 in parallel coiled together. I found the ramp was very slow and once you pushed amps High enough to get decent ramp times the vape was boiling hot. I think half of the cloud I blew was burnt lung.:rofl::rofl:

Here's a quick parallel build done on the Veritas this morning:

2.5mm ID, 26g Kanthal, 10 wraps (I think, lost count after 3), wicked with Rayon, came out at 0.6 ohm

10542975_10205702695908181_1101534225854133935_n.jpg

There is some noticeable turbo lag, but when it kicks in it just keeps going, excellent flavour and TH is hard! Exactly what I was going for, now to try it with a fresh battery :D

Thanks for the tips @HPBotha ;)
